Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Ryan Christopher Seguin
Ryan, Ive been sitting here reading all the past reflections from all the people that you touched and trying to hold back the tears... and then, I knew you were with me when "My Temporary Home" by Carrie Underwood came on. You telling me its ok D! You are good and everything is fine and things find a way to just "be". This is a temporary home for all of us. Just trying to understand that here for us living is the hard part missing the ones we love. Guess this is part of our life lessons. I know, I know... Thank you Ryan. :)

Dear Ryan,
Very sadly you’re unable to be with your mom on her birthday, but I thought together, we could make it a special day for her. We all miss you so much, but your mother’s heart aches for you every day. No one loves you more.
Perhaps through the sunrise, a beautiful flower, or a passing butterfly, you will embrace your mom with a birthday hug. How will she know it’s you? Silly, she’s your mom, she is like no other, she could pick you out of the hospital nursery at an hour old!
God Bless You as you touch your mom today.
“All the Earth, though it were full of kind hearts, is but a desolation and a desert place to a mother when her only child is absent.” Elizabeth Gaskell (1810-1865)
Love you,
Aunt Patti

I stop by and read the posts often, but refuse to continuously write here as we feel this shouldn't be a journal of some sort.
In saying that, I felt compelled to thank everyone that has posted to honor you and sacrifice you've made. Thank you everyone! Ryan's family truely appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
I love you so, so, so much and not a day goes by that I don't think of you. You are the reason I get myself out of bed everyday. I remember how upset you'd get when I was sick or had surgery, you would do whatever you could to make me laugh. (even when I told you not to make me laugh after my shoulder surgery because it hurt so much, but you would always do something that would leave me in stitches-kinda like when you took me to the ER and almost got us tossed out-lol).
Everything I do (lectures, letters, memorials, etc..., since 2-15-06,) is for you. I will forever do what I can to Honor you, Bryant Peney, all of my brothers and sisters in blue that have made that ultimate sacrifice. You will forever be in my heart and soul.
You, my son, are truely that-a son to ME. I love you and will love you forever as if you were my own. You will be part of me until time ends for me.
God Bless and God Speed....

Ryan,
One of my best friends called today. She told me she visits your grave regularly and had just visited today. I said you shouldn't be there. It makes my heart hurt when I think of what has happened. It's all in the wrong order. I just miss you so much.

Dear Tina
I'm so sorry for your loss. I just read your sweet letter to your Ryan and cried. As a mom who myself has loss a son to murder I guess your story hit home because Ryan was a officer and fought the good fight. Many good men came to my son rescue thet horriable night to hold my son when he passed. So you see how your son's life has effected mine. I know we never got to say good bye to our boys and I only hope we find peace someday I know our sons would want that.
I wish there were words to help but just know I do understand your loss my prayers are with you!
God Bless you and your family
