Reflecting on the tragic loss of Broward County Deputy Sheriff Ryan Seguin. It can't go unnoted how such a positive young officer can be cut-down in a second, and how different life could be for so many others if a motorist simply stayed alert while approaching law enforcement. The loss of Deputy Seguin is not forgotten and our prayers remain with this family, loved ones and the members of the Broward County Sheriff's Office.

I miss you so much. No words can say how huge the hole in my heart is. Even after 10 years I can't look at any pictures in the photo albums. All your personal belongings are stacked in the closet in the order I received them. So many missed life events.

Ryan - you provided another beautiful day in northern Michigan for the 8th annual Deputy Ryan Seguin Memorial Golf Scramble. You would be proud of your Dad and Lori - they work so hard on the event, as well as your aunts, uncles, and cousins. Your Dad provides many "extras" for the police agencies in the Alpena-area through the funds raised at this event. Wish it wasn't necessary to this event, but it honors you and your love of police work.

I am wishing you a belated Happy Birthday in heaven. I couldn't bring myself to writing to you on your birthday. That day seems to bring all the memories to the surface. One of the most happiest days of my life has now come to be one of the saddest. It makes me realize how time keeps marching on. Time stopped for me on February 15th 2006. Ryan, I was thinking about when you were little. You had a favorite blanket that you called your"B". Don't ask me how that blanket got that name. Grandma had made it for you and you loved it! That "B" got many a washings .Of course its color has faded and the edges are raveled. Your precious "B" is on the topshelf of the closet. Sometimes I wish I could have placed your"B" with you. As you know I wasn't thinking very clearly when you went to heaven. I know for sure that all heroes have some sort of"B".
