To all of our friends old and new at the Hardin County Sheriff's Department, if we haven't said it yet in person, we say it now, our thoughts and prayers are with you all. We have been in your shoes and have taken that long walk. One time to do this is one time too many. To Elizabeth's mother and family remember that your family includes all in the law enforcement family both near and wide, and we will be there for you. Our thoughts are with you!

Officer Edwards, little did we know that on that morning that God was going to call your name. As fellow brothers and sisters in the quest for peace, we loved you dearly; and in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone! For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left the ones you loved and loved you peaceful memories; your love is still their guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Deputy Edwards, in the effort to help others at a car accident, you died as a result of one. A sacrifice all too often made by those in this line of work. But, what else could you do? Ignore the call? No, I doubt you would ever do that. You did your job, period, no matter the conditions. You are to be admired and respected and now, sadly, mourned.
May your family (home and work) get past the mourning period; know that you will always be with them and to celebrate and be grateful for the time they had with you.
God Bless and Rest in Peace, sister.

We are so sorry to here about your tragic loss of a loved one in law enforcement. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you in support. As we personally know, sometimes there is little comfort that comes from words. Keep focused as you can on the memories and joyous times for these things may bring you comfort. Rely heavily on family, friends, and other law enforcement. Honor your fallen loved one, for their sacrifice will not be forgotten.
