It saddens me whenever one of our own passes. I have seen far to many good people leave before their time is due. A true injustice is, when I read the reflections and see that not one fellow deputy or local citizen has felt compeled to say something nice about this women who put everything on the line, everyday, like we all do. Whether it's a small town in rural America or the big city, it does not matter. We all are here for the same purpose....to help our fellow LEO'S and to keep our loved ones safe from the evil's we see every day.

Elizabeth....God bless you and keep you. We have never met, but we are of the same "Blue" blood. We will meet again when the Lord calls me home.

February 16, 2006

May God bless your loved ones, friends, and fellow officers with happy memories. And my He give you countless crowns in heaven for duty of service.

Thank you for your dedicated service to your community and your department. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May they never forget your faithful service to your community and department and the brave HERO that you were. To the family, friends and co-workers, our heartfelt prayers and sympathies are with you. May God be with you all during this very sorrowful time. Words will never compensate the loss you have suffered. We pray that He now gives you all strength in your time of need. May you find peace in the thought, that we as friends in law enforcement, take this time to lift you up in prayer.

For your act of unselfish bravery and courage Deputy Edwards, we salute you. Blessed are the peacemakers.

Dear Elizabeth

I check this site every day, and every day I pray the numbers don't go up. But they do. It takes a special kind of person to do the job we do and it breaks my heart every time I see that another of my sisters and brothers has been taken away. God bless you, I know you're in a better place now. Ill look out for you when we assemble for our final roll call..

Your sister at Louisville Metro Police Dept.

Lord,
She was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by her brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of her family,
so they clearly see:
that she gave her all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor - they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.
Amen.

Elizabeth, rest easy sister, we have the watch.

The policeman stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry a badge
can't always be a saint."

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at time I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgement of his god.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've born your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell"
