Missing you as I do everyday. I have your picture in view. Your smile makes me smile. I was bragging on you to someone a few days ago and telling a story about driving around and what we did to Wayne while he was on patrol. That story got me thinking and missing the fun and laughter that always came with you. You were my best buddy who grew into my best friend. We have a bond that will never break and that's why I can feel you with me today as I am missing your voice and laugh. I love you little sis. Thank you for watching over and protecting me, as you always did. "A sister's bond is tied together with heartstrings"

AS THE SON OF A TWENTY YEAR LAW OFFICER FOR A FATHER AS WELL AS A 20 PLUS YEAR OFFICE DEPUTY FOR A MOTHER AND LATER DISPATCHING FOR A SHORT WHILE MYSELF I ALWAYS KNEW THAT A 10-41 MIGHT NEVER BE ENDED WITH A 10-42 AT THE END OF THE SHIFT FORTENLY FOR MY FAMILY OUR PARENTS ENDED THIER CARRERS IN RETIREMENT. HAVING SIT BEHIND THE DESK KNOWING MY OFFICERS WERE IN HARMS WAY AND I WAS THIER ONLY MEANS OF HELP I NEVER TOOK THE JOB LIGHTLY , IT NEVER HIT HOME TO ME UNTIL A SUNDAY MORING AT CHURCH WHEN THE PHONE RANG AND PRAYER WAS BEING REQUESTED FOR A LOCAL DEPUTY WHO HAD BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT RESPONDING TO A CALL. MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH BEGIN TO PRAY INSTANTLY WHILE OTHERS HELPED THE DEPUTIES AUNT AND COUSIN WHO WERE IN ATTENDANCE THAT MORNING TO THE HOSPITAL.ON THAT MORNING AS TEARS FELL GOD CHOSE TO CALL HER HOME . ALMOST DAILY I DRIVE BY THE MONUMENT ERECTED IN HER HONOR AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT IT STANDS AS A GRIM REMINDER TO OUR SMALL COMMUNITY JUST HOW PRECIOUS LIFE IS AND HOW QUICKLY IT CAN BE LOST. FOR LIZ SHE GAVE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE IN SERVICE TO HER BELOVED COMUNITY. SO AS I SIT AT MY COMPUTER I SALUTE HER SERVICE AND THANK HER FAMILY FOR THIER CONTINUED SERVICE. REST IN PEACE 935

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.
