Words can not say enough but, we mourn another hero that has been taken from us. If it was by accident or crimes against an officer it is a great loss. We will be praying for your family during these trying times. My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and co-workers. May the Lord give you strength and bless each of you during this time.
Remember these few verses from Psalm 23, The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE FAMILY AND CO-WORKERS OF SERGEANT PRENDES AT L.V.M.P.D. EACH DAY THESE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN WALK OUT THAT FRONT DOOR TO GO TO WORK TO PROTECT AND SERVE THE COMMUNITIES THEY LIVE AND WORK IN. NOT KNOWING WHAT THE DAY WILL HOLD. IT IS BY GODS GRACE THEY RETURN HOME TO US EACH NITE. I THANK SERGEANT PRENDES AND ALL THE OTHER MEN AND WOMEN WHO PUT ON THAT BADGE AND UNIFORM. YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS DAILY. MAY THE LORD BLESS AND KEEP YOU SAFE.

"He Answered The Call"
Today in the sun, I bid him farewell A man, A hero, I never knew well.
Like many before him, who answered the call, Wearing a badge, he was destined to fall.
Though by choice A long life and A happy old age Would he have chosen, had he written the page.
But the office he chose never promised long life, Just half of his salary, for his children and his wife.
He went without fear, into the night, Bringing comfort to some, to some others light.
Easing their pain and calming their fears, He did his duty, never asking for cheers.
A husband, A Cop, he answered the Call, We bid him farewell for He gave his all!!!!!!
May God bless You and Your Family always. Rest In Peace, Sarge.

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.
Today, February 2, 2006 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Sergeant Henry Prendes who died in the line of duty just yesterday.
When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.
Sgt. Prendes' sacrifice will never be forgotten.
