Reflections for Sergeant Henry Prendes

I also have 2 young daughters and I can't imagine the pain your family is going through. Thank you for all you did in your short life. Rest easy. Please look after your fellow officers and keep them safe.

Sgt. Prendes during the 2006 Utah Sheriff's Convention I had the honor of watching a tribute dedicated to you by Lt. Randy Sutton. I wish I could thank you for what you have done not only for my career but also on a personal level. Although I never had the honor of meeting you, you are the reason I have remained in law enforecement. You have changed my entire out look on not only my career but my life. I proudly wear a bracelet dedicated to you on my right wrist. I only hope one day I can be half the officer you must have been.

Henry is one of the BEST I truely miss him as a friend and a great human being, Henry has compassion, sympathy and empathy for all. Due to the Departments warped sense of reality when it comes to the patrol rifle policies and the constant battle for officer safety I was unable to attend his final resting and look the sheriff and staff eye to eye without speaking my mind. I still think of Henry once a day and pray for him and his family. He has done many great things that will be remembered forever, I miss him and I will never forget his spirit. Godspeed my friend, GODSPEED!

Sgt. Prendes,

I was watching TV about the elite officers of the LVMPD, like many officers, hoping to learn something new that would one day save a life- officer or civilian. I froze when I heard the automatic gunfire and officers yelling for immediate assistance, it brought back painful memories of the loss of my friend/co-worker Ofc. Isaac Espinoza, I was there and will never forget. You and your officers charged forward and never backed down, I have nothing but admiration for officers who display such heart. May your family and friends find some peace knowing that several lives were saved that day, and bless the officer who responded with a rifle and ultimately ended the threat and survived from his injuries. Sorry for your loss, thank-you for your service Sergeant.

Sgt, you will be missed down here and comforted up their. We love you and will never forget the bravery that you demonstrated for the citizens and fellow officers of Las Vegas. As you look upon us, we will never forget that day you answered a call to help someone else and made the ultimate sacrafice. Go with God Henry and except his warm welcome and know that we will all meet again soon.

I was just watching a show called "Fugitive Strike Force" on TLC, and learned of the murder of this fine officer.

I'm sure that although almost a year has passed, your family, friends, loved ones, and collegues still miss you dearly.

RIP brother, heaven has another Blue Angel to help watch over the rest of us, while we continue the fight you started...

What a tragic waste of life. I saw a five minute slot about the death of officer Prendes and felt moved to pity to send belated condolences from a simple law-abiding person in the UK

Dear Family,Friends and Fellow Officers Of Sgt.Prendes, As the holidays approach, may you know there are special thoughts and prayers being sent your way. From the families who have walked this road before you. It seems like the holiday's are the hardest. But then you realize each day is hard, when you know your Hero has taken his final flight. But the memory of Sgt. Henry Prendes will forever be in the thoughts of fellow Fallen Hero's family. A bridge built between hearts that bring us together as a family that will forever be as one. Knowing the shock of receiving that call that your loved one was called to their final resting place. May God give you peace in knowing as Henry steped on streets of solid gold,he was greeted by our Lord, with a host of Fallen Hero's standing at attention, saluting and with a smile said "welcome home" brother. Forever in our Memories, forever in our hearts. Thank you Sgt.Prendes for the sacrifice you made for us. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this: that a man lay down his life for his friends. Family, always remember that Henry is forever by you side. Still keeping watch over you, guiding you and always loving you. With love and prayers, Caroly Moore Mother-in-law of Sgt. Jeffrey T. Hewitt EOW 04-04-04 Asheville,N.C.

I'm a mother of two boys and an officer in Las Vegas. I think of Sgt. Prendes everyday I patrol the streets of Las Vegas remembering the sacrifice he made and how it makes me a better officer.
I wonder when I'm working sometimes- "will this be the day". I think every officer has thought that from time to time.
Thank you Searge for making me a better officer for my boys!!!! I miss you and didn't even know you.
