Reflections for Sergeant Henry Prendes

Though we never met at work, I feel a tremendous loss. Metro is such a tight-knit family and when one grieves, we all grieve. The more I learn about your life, the more I aspire to be like you. You make me want to be a better person and by following your examples, I will be. Thank you for helping me remember there is still a lot of good in the world. God Bless you, Angel.

My deepest condolences to the Prendes family. Sgt. Henry Prendes is a hero. It is so sad for his family to be without their Dad and husband. I watch the Las Vegas news every morning here on my computer in Port Charlotte, Florida. I am very sorry for what happened and my heart goes out to the wife and children. May God bless them and give them strength for the weeks to come.

Dear Lord,
Welcome Henry in to your open arms. Greet him with the same love that he shared for you, his family and his community. Allow him to wear the wings of an angel, as he served as an angel on earth.
I never met Henry, but I greive for the loss of a wonderful man.
May your daughters find strength in the Lord and remember the love in their Daddy's Hands. May Dawn find strength knowing that you loved her, and would want her to find peace.
My family has shed many a tear over your death Henry.
Now as we watch the news, we feel like we know you.
Thank You to all the Officers, Police, fire and Military that keep us same.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family of Sgt. Prendes. As a former explorer with the Henderson Police Department, I know what police officers are faced with everyday. I met Sgt. Prendes about a year ago while on a ride-along at SWAC. He is a hero who will be remembered forever and will always hold a special place in my heart. He was a very dedicated police officer and a very caring person. He will always be remembered for his warm heart and kind personality. He will never be forgotten.

AS a member of our police service in Cape Breton Nova Scotia I wish to pass on my condolences the the Prendes family. Each day I send an officer on a call not knowing sometimes what is ahead of him. You have to be very proud of Sgt. Henry Prendes for his courage and strenght to go and fight danger everyday just to try to make the world a better place for all of us to live. Here in Canada it may not seem as dangerous as it is in the States, but I'm sure it is. May God Bless you Sgt. Prendes and give your family the strenght to go on without you, having only your memory to keep them going.

Sgt. Prendes

Thank you for your bravery in the face of such danger. I am grateful for the men and women around this great country who face danger daily.

I did not know you, but today at the celebration of your life and service to your community I heard of a man who first of all, loved his Lord and Savior Jesus, his family and his community. May you rest safely in the arms of Jesus and may He give your wife, daughters and the rest of your family and friends the comfort that only he can give.

I can't imagine the feeling the LVMPD and Prendes family is going through during the loss of such a brave Police Officer who sacrificed his life for the safety of others. Although there is sadness throughout NV and this world, there is a lot to be proud of in Sgt. Prendes accomplishments during his lifetime and chosen career. Henry and others who represent good is what makes this world such a good place, and the greatest country on earth.

Remember that God and Sgt. Prendes are smiling down upon us to continue on and carry the torch for goodness.

I also pay my respects to the other officers involved, and officers that risk their lives every day to make our community a better and safe place.

As a member of this community there are many citizens that appreciate and respect what officers do each and every day,as apparent by the sadness we are all feeling about what has happened.

My heart felt sympathy goes out to The Prendes Family, LVMPD, and all caring members of this community who have lost a true hero.

God Bless you Henry Prendes and all Law Enforcement Officers. I will not forget your sacrifice for this community, and wish that this tragedy did not have to take place.
