Reflections for Sergeant Henry Prendes

It was an honor to have known Sgt. Prendes for the last 14 years. He was a person who gave his all for others in need. We will miss him, his smile, his wit, but we will also celebrate what he gave us all. A good man...A true Hero!

My grief is overwhelming for the loss of your dear husband, father, brother and friend Henry Prendes. My son is a Metro Officer and I know so well how each officer puts their life on the line for us all, each day that they put on their uniform and go out to work. May God, our Heavenly Father, give you His peace in this tragic loss. May He lift you up until you are able to continue in your lives with your beautiful memories of Henry. Heavenly Father must have needed one special angel to take his precious Henry that day, because I do believe Henry was one of those special angels on this earth.

To our fallen Hero...the ultimate price has been paid but your spirit will live forever. As a former police dispatcher for 16 years, I can only imagine what your fellow officers and dispatchers are feeling. My agency just went through this same grievence approximately 5 years ago. Also a result of domestic violence. My heart goes out to your agency. You will be forever missed. God Bless you, your family and your Metro family.

I offer my condolences to the Prendes family and my prayers, that God continue to sustain them all at this time.
As a human being sometimes I question why He allows such tragadies. As a Christian I am in awe how He allowed this one in what is called by some, "sin city", to show the world how much we are blessed as a community that came togeather to honor Sgt. Prendes in such a glorious way.
I was privalaged to be able to watch
all of todays events. On the evening news, "amazing" and "remarkable" were two words used to describe the ability of his daughters to eulogize their father. Amazing and remarkable things are done when someone is empowered by
their faith and trust in God. God bless you for allowing me to share. Thank you.

Before February 1, 2006, I had never even heard of Sgt. Henry Prendes, however, on that day someone I had never even met has not only touched my life but the lives of hundreds of people who may have never had the chance to ever meet or know Sgt Henry Prendes. My thoughts and prayers go out to Sgt. Prendes' family as I know my life will forever be changed by this husband, father and police officer who I never had the chance to meet. Psalm 147:3-6
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up
their wounds.
He determines the stars and calls them each by name.
Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
his understanding has no limit.
The Lord sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground.

Dear Sergeant, You were called to do the Lord's work by protecting his sheep.
You will not be forgotten in our eyes or in the eyes of the Lord. Peace Brother...you are home now.

Though we never met at work, I feel a tremendous loss. Metro is such a tight-knit family and when one grieves, we all grieve. The more I learn about your life, the more I aspire to be like you. You make me want to be a better person and by following your examples, I will be. Thank you for helping me remember there is still a lot of good in the world. God Bless you, Angel.
