Kev, it has been an honor to work with you. Your knowledge and skill was something unbelievable and unexplainable unless experienced first hand. You were a good person with a wonderful family. You will always be in our thoughts, God bless you and please watch over us all. Heaven may have wanted one good Angel, but God transferred one damn good cop.

To the family of Kevin Lee. I am so sorry for the loss of your son. In reading about your son's life, it is obvious to see he was a caring and commited individual, I feel so sad that his life ended so suddenly and unexpectedly. The Bible offers everyone who believes comfort when a loved one dies. It tells of a time in the future where, no one will be sick anymore, and death and mourning will be no more also, until then I pray that God may comfort you in this time of great sorrow. My prayers are with you and your family.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé's Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Officer Lee. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me.

From reading all the reflections left for Kevin, he sounds like he was a great man and a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Kevin's life and the MAN that he was. His life was about so much more than the way he died. Remember that "Wherever a beautiful soul has been ... there is a trail of beautiful memories." Kevin will live on in those memories.

Officer Lee, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been three years but we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

The policeman stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry a badge
can't always be a saint."

I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at time I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgement of his god.

"Step forward now, policeman,
You've born your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell"

I am the owner of the laptop and the owner of the store in which Officer Kevin Lee so courageously displayed the commitment and bravery of the New York City Police Department. I am forever indebted to to the family and grieve at such a senseless tragedy. I was not present during the robbery and carry a burden of guilt for that. I replay the events in my mind and think that perhaps if I was there I could have prevented this. I am personally working with local police officials to do something meaningful for the family he has left behind. I am so proud to be a part of a city with men of Kevin Lee's caliber.

To the family and friends of Officer Lee:

Too often we take for granted the dedicated public servants who are there to protect us. Many times we never have the pleasure to even meet and say thank you, such is the case with Office Lee. Our Manhattan store would have survived without that computer; but, Kevin's commitment to serve and protect never let that matter. Obviously heroism and selflessness defined Kevin. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dearest Kevin,

The pride, joys and the so many wonderful memories you left behind is overwhelming. This tragedy of you leaving us so early in life has left us with a huge void in our hearts that will never be whole again. I will miss you nephew and your wonderful smile.

Last Thursday at your funeral I felt so proud that you devoted, accomplished and served our city with total dedication courageously. You fulfilled all your wants and dreams in being a New York City Police Officer.

I would like to take this time in “Thanking” your brothers and sisters in the elite Grand Larceny squad at Midtown North for their compassion, generosity and sincerity at our time of need.

Rest in peace - I love you.

Your Aunt,
