Reflections for Trooper Matthew DeWayne Myrick
I know of no words that will suffice. I can only say to the family, friends and co-workers that I am very, very sorry.
Just know there are folks all across this country that will lift you up in prayer before the Almighty.
It is my prayer that God keep safe from harm the men and women of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see:
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor-they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.
Amen.
Troop, rest easy brother, we have the watch.

Brother Myrick,
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
