Mike....no doubt you are watching down on that family of yours and you have much of which to be proud. The girls are growing in wisdom and grace. Michelle is a wonderful mother who is their mother first, and friend second, and doing a great job raising them with great values and strengths. As we approach the 6th anniversary of your passing, know that you are not forgotten, that you are missed by those who loved you and those who worked with you, and by those of us who never met you but who know we lost a very good man because your light still shines brightly through all the good that is Michelle and the girls.

For Michelle-
I just wanted to say thank you for expressing your condolences on our tragic loss of Walker Police Officer Trevor Slot yesterday. My husband Scott was one of the officers you spoke to in Washington DC at the Police Memorial Service in 2006. I distinctly remember him coming home from that week and seeing how profoundly touched he was by you and your children. I know that he will also be touched when I show your post to him. Thank you so much for remembering us now at our darkest hour. Our prayers to you and yours also as you approach the 6 year mark of your loss.

Dad,
It's been four years nine months and nine days since you passed. I can't believe it's been so long! It feels like you didn't pass that long ago but that it's been forever since I've seen you. I've grown so much and people tell me all the time that you are "smiling down from Heaven" and that you'd "be so proud" of me. Your little girl has grown up just a bit in the last few years. I'm now taller than Grandma, Auntie K, and Mom (she's doing great by the way and so is Jenn; Jenn grows more and more pretty everyday, you would be blown away by how big she's gotten).
I've made so many friends over the last few years and you would love all of them so much! There's two who I think you would really like; they are both super funny and one even reminds me of you: tall, blonde hair, blue eyes, funny, makes puns even in tough conversations and hates not being able to fix things.
I guess this isn't quite a reflection anymore, more like a letter to you. In that case I hope they have internet in Heaven because I want you to know what I'm saying.
I love you.
I miss you.

Mike,
I was thinking about you and John yesterday on Memorial Day. I realized I never told you that you were the best Lt the Santa Cruz office had ever had. You made me want to stay an officer so I could work for someone like you. I have many great memories of you making it fun to be in special duty. Everyone misses you and thinks about you every time they see your sign on sr-17.
I will never forget

Your heroism and service is honored today, the fourth anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. You escorted me home from the hospital, gave me your card and private cell number in case I needed anything...little did I know that our families would be members of NorCal COPS together after your tragic death. Your wife and daughters are amazing.
Rest In Peace

I attended the Academy with Mike and as seems to happen all too often, lost touch with him over the years. I remember him as being the quiet one, but a genuine gentleman. He was liked by all. God bless. CTC III-81!

On the 3rd anniversary of Lieutenant Walker's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Lieutenant Walker is not forgotten.
