I remember my grandmother, Lalla Franks New, speaking of the heroism of her brother Henry. His picture proudly hung in my grandparent's home and now is proudly displayed in the home of my brother, Joe Craft, Jr. of Holden, Massachusetts. I am honored to have Sheriff John Henry Franks as my great uncle and thank him for his service, dedication and sacrifice.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 97th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
