In the short time I knew Officer Nguyen he was constantly looking for ways to improve the lives of others and make this world a better place. There was no mountian that he did not want to climb. He was truly an inspiration and a leader, a blessing to all who knew him. He will be missed.

Rob and I went to the police academy together. He was not only an excellent person and police officer; he took on the tough job of leading our class. I am at such a loss...
Rob, I miss you already like you would never know. It feels like yesterday that you and I were back in Somerset. We were inseperatable during those six months; we were either going out, hanging out with the guys around my house, or going down to the beach house. Regardless, after the academy, we wouldn't let it go a few months without calling each other and catching up / telling exciting stories. I now wish that we didn't let it go months.
I want to tell the world that it didn't lose a police officer; it lost a soft-spoken mild mannered DIPLOMAT. My mom is equally distraught that she has lost her adopted son. Rob, I miss and love you. I hope to see you in Heaven someday, where I am sure you are protecting everyone as we speak. You will forever be in my heart...
Everlasting Love from your Brother,
Yock

Rob,
This all seems so tragic and senseless, but we all know that until your final moments, you lived your life and sacrificed it to keep others safe. You will NEVER be forgotten. You are a Jersey City "E-MAN". Thank God for men like you & brother Sean. We're all richer for having shared your company.
God-speed brother.

I was deeply saddened to read about the loss of Officer Robert Nguyen and his partner. I know of no words that will suffice.
I just want the family, friends and co-workers to know that there are folks all across this country that will lift them up in prayer before the Almighty.
May you feel His presence during this difficult time.

Having served, I well know the dangers facing each officer during their tour of duty. My sincere prayers to our Lord Jesus Christ are for the surviving family members and those of Roberts department. It hurts bad when we lose our own, but everyone can rest that though Robert did not choose to die, he died in the service of his department. God bless you all.
