Reflections for Corporal Joseph Raymond Pokorny, Jr.

I was saddened when I received via email of Corporal Joseph Pokorny's death. Once again, another brother has been taken because of some punks running around with a gun. I extend to the family and the Pennsylvania State Police my condolences and my regrets on his passing. Continue to remember this officer's bravery, courage, and all the services he provided to his community. Corporol Pokorny your shift is over now, and we will take it from here. Rest in peace, brother...

Rest in Peace, Brother. Your service and sacrifice were not in vain, nor will they be forgotten.

"Yea though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me." Psalm 23:4

You walked through the valley everytime you suited up and now you are Home. Be proud and stand tall as you prepare to walk the Streets of Gold. From your post, watch over your family and help them to find the strength they will need to forge ahead in your absence. Let them find peace this Holiday in knowing that you are on their shoulders and in their hearts.

Watch, too, over your extended family of blue. Ride along as they fight the battle here and help keep them out of harm's way. Let them return to their families as yours would have liked you to return to them.

Rest easy- we will carry the sword with pride, honor and integrity until we are relieved.

Godspeed!

I cry for your wife, son and daughter today. It is a tragedy for anyone to lose a family member, let alone like this... and close to Christmas... with so many unanswered questions. I know you'll watch over them in Heaven.

To Joe's co-worker's, God bless you for the job you so willingly do everyday.

God bless you and your family. Let all your loved ones know that all the Troopers, County, City and Feds are doing what they can to apprehend these monsters. Joe was a good guy who loved to ride his motorcycle and go bowling with the boys. May you rest in peace and watch over younger guys on the job late at night and throughout their career.
