I am a Pennsylvania State Trooper, a Soldier of the Law. To me is entrusted the Honor of the Force. I must serve honestly, faithfully and, if need be, lay down my life as others have done before me, rather than swerve from the path of duty. It is my duty to obey the law and to enforce it without any consideration of class, color, creed, or condition. It is also my duty to be of service to anyone who may be in danger or distress and, at all times, so conduct myself that the Honor of the Force may be upheld."
Rest in peace Cpl Pokorny. God bless

Corp,
Every day we get to the barracks, strap on our gear, get in the patrol room for roll call, grab a car, and hit the road. We take the calls that come in, we make our traffic stops, we pick up the pieces of all the things that go wrong, and try to make them a little better. Somewhere in there, we get done what needs to be done, and rarely, if ever, stop to think about what we do.
Then, we get the news. “We lost a guy out west yesterday!” The story gets out fast; who, where, when, and how. Did we get the guys who did it?
And somewhere, sometime during that shift, we all stop, and wonder, why? Why do we do this?
Not an easy question to answer when you’re making a stop in the middle of nowhere, nearest back up might be 30 minutes away, and things aren’t looking so good.
And then, we remember. Because guys like you showed us the way. Showed that even when things go ultimately wrong, we still do our duty, and say, “I am a Pennsylvania State Trooper, a Soldier of the Law…”
May the Good Lord bless you and keep you, may His light shine upon you, May His Love guide you, and may you have Eternal rest in His arms.
