I was very sad to learn today that your mother passed away, just months after your father; the pain of your death more than either could handle.
I can only hope that the three of you are together again.

I can't stop thinking about Detective Daniel Enchautegui's courage and dedication toward his job. He is an absolute hero and I am proud to say that I rode in his honor in 2006 with the Police Unity Tour from N.J. to Washington, D.C. I continue to wear my bracelet with his name, department and end of watch engraved with honor and pride and will never take it off. The law enforcement family will miss you dearly. Even though we never met, I will never forget him. Rest in peace my brother.

Danny, You were a loyal friend and the Godfather to my first born. I thought you were nuts for wanting to join the force, but it was your dream. You almost made me want to join with you. You always told me not to worry about you. You promised me you would be careful. I have managed to forgive you for breaking that promise and taking my best friend away. But you did also promise that you weren't going out without a fight. You always said "With Blaze and Glory." It brought a smile to my face when I heard you did just that. May your glory follow you where you are. Bryana will always know her Godfather and the great man he was. After many many years of friendship, I have finally listened to you. I have finally stopped worrying about you. May God keep you always, as I do in my heart.

My modest opinion is that police officre daniel enchautegui was a great hero and there are few left of such greatness. He has been with the finest for only three years by he amazingly had a lot of courage and most of concern by others well-being that is so rear in our world.

On the morning of your death, I arrived to work to hear the terrible news that you were shot and killed near your Bronx home.
The 40th Precinct Detective Squad was then dispatched FORTHWITH to the 45th Precinct to help investigate and help apprehend your assailants.
Though we were all angry and shocked by the news of your tragic death, you, my friend, and your memory, gave us the strength to work hard in finding the pieces to the puzzle and to find the truth that led up to your tragic death.
After learning the facts of the case that night, I can truly say that "YOU ARE A HERO!" And no one can ever take that away from you.
In the weeks to come, the Bronx District Attorney's Office received indictments for Lillo Brancato and Steven Armento for Murder in first degree. Though just the first step in this tragic case in this cold blooded murder, we will not rest until we get a conviction of life without the possibility of parole.
Though your picture hangs in the 40th Precinct in tribute to your service, it will never ever take the place of your kind heart. And though you are gone, YOUR MEMORY LIVES ON FOREVER.
Rest in Peace my friend, FIDELIS AD MORTEM.

what guts this great hero had. as i sit here and think about how some really disgusting people will support brancato just because he acted in one movie, it disgusts me. this is a real hero, defending his city. unfortunenly this is not a bronx tale, but it is all too real. may god have only the best for you in heaven daniel.

I read about Officer Enchautegui in the news a few months ago and recently today. Each time, it pains me to know he was slain just doing your job - on your time off. A job that so many take for granted... but Detective Enchautegui lived and died for. Much respect to you, Detective Enchautegui.
My condolences to the family and the department.
