Reflections for Detective Daniel Enchautegui
A true hero displayed his honor to the badge by acting to prevent crime while off-duty. Although I did not know you, your act of heroism was evident and tells us that you wore the badge with its intended bravery. You will be missed by all in BLUE!

I read your story in online news earlier... Thank you for being so brave. Most people would have ignored what you decided to approach head on. God be with your parents, friends, and co-workers. You'll never be forgotten. I'm sorry you have to miss Christmas with your loved ones and that you were taken from them far too early.
Thank you

Danny, you were the best this department had. We kidded around a lot on the pronounciation of your last name, but there is no mistake how to pronounce it now: Hero.
You will be sorely missed and NEVER EVER FORGOTTEN!

My deepest condolences to the Enchautegui family and NYPD for their loss of a brave and heroic officer. Even though off-duty, this officer took it upon himself to provide "police service" to the community where he resided to render assistance to his neighbors. Ofc. Enchautegui final act was courageous, noble, and altruistic. God bless the Enchautegui family and the NYPD.
