As a Cooke County, Texas resident I would like to say that I will be forever grateful for the sacrifice made by Constable J.D.L. Johnson. Thanks in part to the ODMP, his memory is still very much alive and well.

I am so glad you are finally being honored. Thank you for your bravery. I know Heaven is fun up there... I bet you heroes get special parties and everything. :-) THANK YOU for your sacrifice. It means just as much (in my heart) now as it did in 1881.
