I just found out about this page and you were the first person i thought of. And though we never met, it would've been an honor knowing the great man i heard everyone speak of. God bless your family. You will never be forgotten.

Salute
Written by: A Student at P.S. 119 in Flatbush, Brooklyn
Dedicated to Officer Dillon Stewart
Salute.
Salute to an honored man who was:
a good father,
good husband,
good son
and...
a good officer.
If he's with God,
he is watching you
every single day
and...
when you grow up,
he will still be with you
every day of your life.
I know what it feels like saying:
"Where is my daddy?"
Salute!
Salute to a hero who took a bullet.
God Bless!

To the family and friends of Detective Dillon Stewart, his fellow officers at New York City Police Department, and most especially to Detective Stewart himself:
I was so saddened to learn of the tragic death of this fine young officer. On behalf of our entire family, I extend our sincerest condolences for the grievous loss you suffered by this brutal and senseless murder.
Detective Stewart, know that you are being thought of and remembered by those whose lives you touched, whether they knew you personally or not. Your memory is honored and revered.
In reading the many reflections about Dillon, it is obvious he was well-respected and cared for by many. He was a person of light and his light will always shine.
May your family be comforted and supported by those who care for you and your loved ones, and by your law enforcement family and other police survivors who share this painful journey with them.
Rest In Peace, Dillon.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Detective Stewart gave his community and the citizens of New York, and the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on November 28, 2005.
