Rest in Peace, Brother. You have served this world well and proven yourself a true hero. The sacrifice you made will never be forgotten. You are truly a warrior of justice and have rightfully earned your place on the other side of the Pearly Gates.

Your family and your Department will remain in our prayers.

As you begin your new beat in Heaven, keep a vigilant watch over your family and keep them safe. Help them to find strength in each other and in their extended family of blue as they prepare to face the holidays without your physical presence.

Pass the sword and we will carry it proudly until we are called to join you and all those who are serving Above.

I am in shock reading of your deep loss. Our family lost our dear young officer in a similar incident where his vest was on but that little space under the arm left him vulnerable.

God knows each moment of our lives. There are no surprises to Him. We weep with you and will be praying as you say goodbye to your hero over the next days and months. We care about you even though we do not know you.
