Our sympathies to the Stewart family. Dillon was a selfless hero who died a warrior's death, the most honorable death in my opinion. Your children will be proud to speak of your story, which should be told along side the greatest hero tales of our time. I can only hope to perform as you did in the face of my own peril. Rest peacefully, brother, hero.

I just read about this, first on AOL and as I went to the "Post your thoughts" section I read what some people wrote and I just can not believe what this country has become. There are people bringing race into this and it just sickens me!!! To Ofc. Dillon's family, I am so sorry for your loss and I will keep you in my prayers. This man is a True American Hero!!!! None of us know what we will do when faced with our own mortality and this man continued on fighting the good fight until the Lord called him home.
There is so much evil in this world and we as Police Officers see it everday we go to work. Ofc. Stewart is an inspiration to me and guys like him are a constant reminder to me as to why I got into this line of work. I hope you will continue to keep watch over the rest of us from the Heavens. God bless!!!!
