Reflections for Agent Choc Douglas Ericsson
I want to thank everyone for all of their prayers. With our faith and prayers we have been able to make it through each day. I thank our Heavenly Father each day for our many blessings, being married to the love of my life and our three wonderful children. We will continue to live our lives the best we can making Choc proud of his family. I look forward to our eternity togather.

She is trying to be strong as you would want her to be, and with the comfort of Our Heavenly Father she will manage the road ahead.
Three precious children carry your genes.
Our memories of you will remain in our hearts. You were loved on earth.

I still remember when I first meet you working at Mooreland Police Department, when I was in highschool. I remember as if it was yesterday and now your gone. It seemed like just the other day that you certified me and my K-9 when I was at Dewey County. But, if there is an up side to any of this now you can walk your beat on heavens streets. My prayer's go out to your famly and your co-workers, and to let everyone know you well never be forgotten. (Rest in Peace)

Choc, it has only been a few months since that terrible evening when I heard about your incident while attending a highschool football game. I will never forget how concerned you always were for my family after the death of my oldest teenage son. You were a true friend and professional law enforcement officer. I think of you often and get comfort in knowing that you are with my son Cory and the many other partners and friends I have lost. I look forward to seeing you again in the new Israel. Until then.......

My fiancé, Dennis McElderry, was the first law enforcement casualty of 2003. Dennis was a Deputy Sheriff with the Davis County Sheriff's Office in SE Iowa. Dennis died doing a job he loved, just as I'm sure Choc did. It saddens me to know that Dennis was not the first to die in the line of duty, nor will he and Choc be the last to die this way.
Having gone through the pain of losing Dennis I can truly understand and feel the pain that Agent Ericsson's family, friends, and co-workers are going through in losing him. My heart goes out to you all, especially to his wife. No one can truly understand the pain of loss until they've walked in our shoes. Please know that my thoughts are with you and that you are not alone in your "journey". Should you ever need anything please do not hesitate to contact me. (The Davis County Sheriff's Office will always know how to reach me or write jocelyne1974 at canada dot com)
As a fallen officer "survivor" and a friend, please accept my condolences on behalf of myself and the McElderry family. I never got the opportunity to know Choc but, I am certain he was well respected and well loved. Choc will live on in the hearts of all the lives he touched. You were all blessed to have been able to know and love Choc, even for a short time. I pray that Choc, Dennis, and all the other fallen officers will continue to watch over us all as only they can.
Thank you Officer Ericsson for a job well done and for helping to make this world a safer place for us all. Please say "hello" to my fiancé Dennis for me.
Wishing you and all those who's lives you touched brighter and better days,
Jocelyne :)

Mrs.Ericsson,
I am so sorry to hear about the tragic loss of your dear husband. I can empathize with you due to the fact that I lost my precious fiance on August 10, 2005 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a narcotics detective, and was shot and killed at a residence while attempting to do a search warrent. I know there are no words to ease the pain and sense of loss that you are feeling. Please know that many thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Your husband was a courageous soul who paid the ultimate sacrifice for so many. Please know that you will see him again in Heaven that knowledge is what helps me to get through each day. God Bless you and your children.

We are so sorry to here about your tragic loss of a loved one in law enforcement. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you in support. As we personally know, sometimes there is little comfort that comes from words. Keep focused as you can on the memories and joyous times for these things may bring you comfort. Rely heavily on family, friends, and other law enforcement. Honor your fallen loved one, for their sacrifice will not be forgotten.
