Reflections for Officer Andrew Todd Stevens
To Officer Andy Stevens-I salute your conviction, your bravery, your dedication. You were doing your job - as you always did. You will be missed. The thin blue line is a little thinner, we appreciate what you did everyday, as we do to all Officers of Law Enforcement. Our hearts go out to your immediate family, and your CHP family. Rest in Peace, Sir. I will never forget you.

Officer Stevens was in my husbands senior class at the academy. He has been very quiet since we heard of this murder. He has lost a few of his friends now. One of them (Don) in a similar way in 1996. To the wife of officer Stevens, I know no words to ease the pain you will feel once the numbness has worn off, but I do want you to know that all of us LEO wives are sharing in your pain. We will be thinking of you everyday and hope that you can find some kind of peace out of this horrible, sensless tragedy. I am truly sorry that your husband has been taken from you. I hope the good times you shared stay fresh in your mind always.

Andy, the man I love does the very thing that took your life every night he puts on his uniform. I felt so many different emotions as I read about what happened to you. It's not always a big drug bust or a dramatic shoot-out. Sometimes it's a simple traffic stop that should remind all of us how heroic our police really are. We must never forget Andy's sacrifice. Your wife, family, and coworkers will forever be in my prayers. God bless.
Be safe everyone.

About a week ago, I had a conversation with Andy. He was telling my wife and I how much he loved his job and descibed the Wooland Area as "God's Country."
Andy, you are truly in "God's Country" now. Keep watching our backs from above and know that we will take if from here. Rest in peace, brother.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Officer Steven's family and my brothers and sisters at the Woodland CHP office.

Brother, I am sorry that you had to lay down your life.
I am sorry for your wife, family and friends.
And to your brothers and sisters in the department.
I am also sorry for California, that she no longer has someone so dedicated that they would die in her defence.
The world is now a lessor place with you gone brother.
I salute you!

"A Part Of America Died"
Somebody killed a Policeman today, and a part of America died. A piece of our country he swore to protect will be burried with him at his side.
The Suspect that shot him will stand up in court, with counsel demanding his rights. While a young widowed mother must work for her kids, and spend many long, lonely nights.
The beat that he walked was a battle field too, just as if he'd gone off to war. Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast, to his name they will add a gold star.
Yes sombody killed a policeman today, in your hometown or in mine, While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors, a cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street, and he stands at each rookies side. He answerd the call, of himself gave his all,
And A Part Of America Died.

God be with the family and police community. It is a hard thing to go through, we just lost one of our men in blue the beginning of Oct and it is something you never want to hear or think about. God be with his wife, mother father, siblings and all. Be with those dispatcher working that day and his co-workers. That is something I dont wish for anyone to have to go through.
