When an Officer dies in the line of duty it not just a loss to the family, but a loss to the community. All too often, Police and Firefighters go unnoticed. For that I am sorry. Officer Jackson's loss will have a lasting impact on all of the Metroplex area. What is hero? A hero is a man who makes a differnce in life, and even in death. Thank you Officer Jackson. Your life may have been cut short but your spirit lives on.

My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to Officer Jackson's family and the Dallas Police Department. Officer Jackson's courage will always be remembered by everyone who wears the uniform and the citizens he swore to protect.
Many will never know the courage it takes to put on that uniform. Officer Jackson is a hero and it takes a special kind of person to serve and protect. Officer Jackson paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect the lives of others and will never be forgotten.
May he rest in peace and be welcomed by the others who lost their lives before him.

I didn't know Brian. But I know Jo-Ann.
Jo-Ann, I am certain no words I could offer now will ease your pain. When someone like Brian is taken away from us, we can't help but to ask why. This is a question we may never understand, nor get an answer to.
It would seem Brian willingly gave of himself throughout his life to help others in need. A volunteer EMT, a Charlestown Police Reserve Officer, and finally a dedicated, loyal, and professional Dallas Law Enforcement Officer. Brian gave of himself freely. His selflessness, his sacrifice will not be forgotten.
Know now Jo-Ann, you are part of a family. A family who's arms will wrap around you from coast to coast.
Brian will be with you always. Brian is policing the heavens for all eternity. Brian's spirit lives on in all of us who choose to walk the thin blue line.
You ARE NOT ALONE.

A piece of me died today, as I read of your sacrifice, dear brother in arms. I said a silent prayer for you and those who loved you. You sought only to help a frightened woman terrorized by a cowardly madman with a gun. You had ended your shift and did not have to answer the call...but you chose to instead of heading home for the night.
And now look what has transpired. You are assuredly resting in a place reserved for heros and brave men.
Godspeed, my Friend.

Dear Jackson Family,
I did not know Brian, but I have known several like him, a true hero. Know that the positive impact Brian had on others as well as the community will no doubt last beyond our pain of loss. With that being said, also know he will not be forgotten.
My family and the law enforcement community will have a good thought for yours.

I heard of this trajic lost while near my shifts end, upon my return to work the following shift this news fresh on my mind. "Routine Patrol" wasn't rountine. I found myself being evermore careful in the performance of my duties. I Responded to a home invasion burglary at 5 am and foot chase of suspect insued. I lost sight of my suspect. He was behind me hiding in the shadows of a house. And my guardian angel was watching. I made it home safe sunday morning and he is in jail. I only pray that I can serve and protect as well as you have. But then, you have set the bar so very high for those of us still on watch. God bless you and yours. And God save us, your brothers in blue from such a day. But if that day is to come, god grant me/us the strength to face the devil down with that same courage and protect those who can not protect them selves. May the good Lord watch over your fanily with a ready sword, and we will try our best to make you proud as we take care of the beat you have left behind. Thank you for sacrifice.

I just had dinner with Officer Jackson and his wife 3 weeks ago. It is surreal to even contemplate his loss. Brian had a zest for life, and a love of Public Service. We will all miss him tremendously. My deepest condolences to his wife, his family, and his friends.

God Bless you Brian for the job that you did. I was truly sadden to hear the Dallas Police Cheif's announcement. I will say that it's amazing how we go to work day to day aware of the dangers that we could possibly face. Brother you have made the ultimate sacrifice. Rest in Peace now. To your wife and family I ask God to Bless them and guide them through their grief and time of need. I hope they know and realize that they are not alone, and that we are all deeply sadden by your loss.
