My sympathies to Officer Jackson's family and colleagues on the Dallas PD. As I live in Newport, RI I watched the services of Office Jackson with the hundres of officers marching. It is quite a tribute to a hero, someone whom I have often said I would trade places with, knowing that he has honorable service. May God watch over them all.

Officer Jackson was a true co-worker and friend. He is sorely missed.
Our school was honored to have his family visit our school. It was a gift.

God bless you, Brian Jackson

DEAR MRS. JACKSON,

I'M CURRENTLY IN THE NAVY AND WILL BE MOVING TO DALLAS TO JOIN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND I HEARD ABOUT YOUR HUSBAND OR SHALL I SAY HERO. EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T KNOW HIM PERSONALLY I STILLED SHARED A COUPLE OF TEARS FOR THIS FALLEN WARRIOR WHO WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. HE NOT ONLY INSPIRED CURRENT OFFICERS , BUT FUTURE OFFICERS TO ASSUMMED THE WATCH WITH HONOR, COURAGE, AND COMMITMENT. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND GIVE YOU EVERLASTING PEACE.

Dear Brian Jackson, Thank you for your dedication to your family in blue. Thank you for helping the many citizens you did everyday, who never knew the ultimate sacrifice you would make for them in the end. Thank you for reminding me how important my family is, and how sweet each moment is when I'm able to be with them. Thank you for this new sense of pride I have when I put this uniform on. Seeing a man sleeping soundly in the back of the squad car just moments after taking your life, and then you, a twenty-eight year old healthy man in his coffin seems so unjust and unfair. But now, I realize, its not he that took your life so young. God had summoned you home, one of the most selfless and caring street-soldiers this world had to offer, the best. For all of us left behind, we have an angel we know by name, one we can call on and who will listen. Now, we clear the station under your watchful eyes and guidance. We know that you will carry us through our darkest moments. And, will be waiting for us with open brotherly arms when we are finally summoned to join you. Your sweet face will hang on the walls of the academy, a reminder to the young recruits of the blessing it will be to work alongside such heroic men and women each day. Brother, your watch here on earth is over, we'll take it over from here, much easier knowing that you are protecting us from there. Finally, through these tearful eyes I thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your bravery. God Speed brother. Thank you Officer Brian Jackson #7980, Thank You...

God be with the family and police community. It is a hard thing to go through, we just lost one of our men in blue the beginning of Oct and it is something you never want to hear or think about. God be with his wife, mother father, siblings and all. Be with those dispatcher working that day and his co-workers. That is something I dont wish for anyone to have to go through.

Every time I hear of another officer being killed, my heart aches. Brian, thank you for your service. You willingly put your life on the line to protect the citizens of your community. They owe you a huge debt of gratitude.
To your wife, I'm the widow of a fallen officer, also. I can understand your pain. I'm so sad for you. Keep your eyes on our Lord, and he will give you peace. You're in my prayers.

As I watched Officer Brian Jackson's funeral live on TV, I held my 2 month old son close to me and cried. I cried for the family Officer Jackson left behind and I cried out of anger. How could such an amazing officer be taken from a family that loved and respected him at such a young age. But as I cried, I realized once again that we should never question why these terrible things happen, even if they hurt so much. Because someone somewhere, has it much worse than we do. My husband is 29 and I am 25. I gave birth to my son a little over 2 months ago, and watching the funeral I couldn't even begin to imagine the pain his wife and family felt. I realize that I shouldn't take those I love you's for granted and I shouldn't be so quick to send him off because he's "gonna be late". As my husband and I talked lastnight, he told me that the reason he always left so late, was because he wanted to see us as long as he could "just in case". I cried, I never realized that he may not be coming back once he leaves. Even though we never knew Officer Jackson my husband and I felt as if we lost part of our family. In a way we did, we lost one of my husbands brothers. God bless the family of Officer Jackson and Dallas Police Officers.

JoAnn,

It took me so long to come on here and leave a reflection as the words seem so very hard for me to convey. As a police officer's wife, I can't tell you how much my heart breaks with you. I want you to know from one LEO wife to another that although I cannot imagine what you are going through, I grieve with you over the loss of Brian. Watching his funeral today I got a true sense of what an amazing man, officer, friend and husband he was. I want you to know that he will never be forgotten. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your sacrifice as Brian is no longer just your hero, but ours too. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers because after all, you are a part of a very large family in blue. May God bless you and keep you always~
