Again we mourn as another hero is taken from us. My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and co-workers of Police Officer Dickerson. May the Lord give you strength and bless each of you during this time.

After more then 36yrs on the job; it still troubles me how fast an officers' life can be taken. Make sure you are ready, and always remember to say Hello to your fellow Brother or Sister officer; there may not be another opertunity. I failed to do that almost 20years ago and then officer died cleaning his gun 2 days later,just before his shift. He forgot 1 bullet in the 38. I apologize for not say Hello to him. Ed/#128,John 3:16

Another American Hero has paid the ultimate price in service to mankind. Go rest high on that mountain Officer Dickerson, your work on Earth is through. I was born and raised Danville and most of my family lives there. Thank you for the job that you and the rest of the officers at Danville PD do. The credit belongs to the one who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes short again and again, who knows the great devotions, and spends himself in a worthy cause, who at best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if they fail, at least fails while daring greatly. So that their place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.
Mrs. Dickerson, my heart goes out to you for your loss. My wife Amy was taken from us when our son was only 2 years old. Know that you will have the support of many.

As I begin my tour of duty, I ask your protection from all mental, physical and spiritual harm. Sustain me with the knowledge that I am doing your work, endeavoring to keep peace among your people. Help me to be just as I enforce the law without prejudice or favor to anyone. May I be courageous but not reckless in carrying out my duties. Let me respond to all calls with haste realizing that so many are dependent upon me for life and safety. Support me with your consoling power when I am tempted to think no one really cares and that I am taken for granted. On behalf of our entire family, I wish to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Officer Dickerson was so tragically killed. We grieve with you and for you.
May you find comfort in the support and caring of your law enforcement family, and other police survivors. There are many who will be by your side on the difficult journey you now face.
I am so saddened this young officer died such an untimely death leaving behind a devastated family. May God bless all of you.

Another young officer losing his life, what a sad story. Thank you for doing your job and protecting the streets. Your family and friends will have to share many memories with your young son. You are now his guardian angel and will still be with him every second of the day.
