Bob was the face of the town of swansea. Everyone knew him and it was a priviledge to have known him all my life. Just a huge lost to the town of swansea.

As a new fellow DARE Officer I send my deepest regrets to the Swansea Police Department and all family and friends of Sgt. Cabral. Your years of service and complete dedication to your community are obviously a symbol of the dedication you had for what you do.

I've known Lt. Cabral since I was a young child and the impact that he made on myself and many others in the community of Swansea is indelible. I hope many others that have known him will always remember the hard work and kindness he always bestowed on those around him in the community. You were greatly loved Bobby.

To the family, friends and fellow officers, I extend to you heartfelt and sincere sympathy for the loss of Sgt. Cabral. His loss will undoubtedly leave a hole in many's hearts and souls.
I never had the opportunity to meet you, but without question you must have been a man that undoubtedly helped many and protected even more. I hope that you will be remembered as a hero to all.
This incident is a constant reminder to all of us... uniformed and civilian ... of the perils of drunk driving. Another officer has again been senselessly loss -just as my close friend Bridgeton (MO) Officer Scott Armstrong was killed earlier this year (EOW 1-12-05).
