August 4th you would have been 30 years old. I do not think that birthdays in heaven are relevent, however I do believe the day you came into GOD'S GLORY is. It is as if you have a new "birthday" as strange as that may seem to us. I can't imagine the things that you are experiencing, if it were not for this confidence, Lord only knows what we would do with ourselves. You often are a part of our conversation, Lisa and I, and moments we smile as we remember things you said and did, and then there are moments when were quiet, unable to talk. May you my son in the faith ever glory in the presence of GOD ALMIGTHY and soon we trust we shall also join you. Amen. Love Arthur

"Remember me and smile, for it's better to forget than remember me and cry.”
July 9, 2006
You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all he's left.
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him only that he is gone,
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what he'd want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
I love you.

When people find their special purpose in life and are true to that purpose they find an exuberance for living, they are positive, and energetic, they are fulfilling the reason for their life. Matt found such purpose, he loved his life as a cop because he loved challenges and was never afraid to meet them head on. It was his personality, very action oriented! Not many find that in life and He did what He was called to do. He lived his life in such a way as to maintain integrity of mind and spirit. A genuine person who made his world a better place, a man who cared. I still feel the pain of his absence, but least I get down, I remind myself of the incredible joy Matt is experiencing all around him, and that his purpose lives on even in greater ways that we cannot imagine: because Matthew is very much alive, and the same twinkle in his eyes are still shining, you see Matt is realizing everything he has ever wanted. Although our hearts are broken, I could never dare to take that away from him, even if I could- by wishing him to be here with us.
I desire such a future and such a hope: it is one that our Lord Jesus has promised and will give to all who seek him and continue their journey with this wonderful hope within. Not only will I see Matthew again, but even more importantly, I will see Jesus in all his radiance and all his glory! Remember the end of the story isn't finished. We are all just a few steps around the corner from eternity. God is forgiving, loving and awesomely good!

Mr. Redding, I had the pleasure of meeting you at the Matt Redding Memorial Foundation golf tournament on June 19, 2006. I was very fortunate to be asked at the last minute to join my employers group. I am, like many others saddened by your great loss. Matt must have been just a wonderful man, judging by the many attendees. Im sure that he would be thrilled to know that so many people cared about him, his life and his dedication to the people of Rocklin, as a police officer. It is my prayer that in future years he will continue to be honored through the Foundation that is named for him, so that others will carry on in his name.
God Bless you and your family Mr. Redding.

I think of you often when I pray for Jess. She's much stronger then I'm sure even she gives herself credit for. I know you and Pete are in Heaven watching over all of us, but sometimes it's really hard when we get to missing you guys. It's tough carrying on without your smiles. Everytime Chris catches another DUI, I think of you and your sacrifice... then say another prayer for Jess. I pray that God will continue to be there with her and also hold her a little tighter as she misses you more & more and tries to work this journey of grieving & healing... Send some extra hugs her way? And tell Pete to send some extra hugs to Becca. She's missing him like crazy, too :-) I know you guys are having a blast in Heaven.

I knew matthew through my roomate who is a rocklin police officer, and through playing softball with him. I was able to go on a few ride alongs with matt and we had a great time. I even was with him on his longest vehicle pursuit, which we talked about for weeks following the event. Matt was everything i wanted to be in the future, i admire him so much and miss him even more. He will always be remembered and loved, he was and is a true hero and friend. See you in heaven.

Justice will prevail in this tragedy. We are left with all the wonderful memories of a wonderful man who loved his Lord and family. But the time has come to come to terms with how the law will handle it. Nothing will bring Matt back, but there is a sense of relief that the legal process will prevail and accord the punishment necessary to the person that hurt so many with his reckless, cowardly behavior. God bless you Matt and you remain our hero forever. Even after all of us are gone, your name, your bravery, your goodness will be recorded in the books of history for all to read and know you. You remain now and forever in the hearts of many.

Praise God, Praise God!!! Our lives are eternal and salvation comes in the name of the Lord, for there is no other name given to men. Who else? Christ,it is He who has gone before us in death. Not only death but ressurecton, conquering death forever!!! No other name given to men!!! The Lord has Matthew, he has him!!! Do you know what that means? Matt is waiting for us because we will meet & embrace again. That which is seen is passing away, even our own bodies, it cannot endure. The Bible says Death has no victory for those who believe and for those who seek God by his son Jesus. Matt has put on the eternal immortal life, for he has trusted the lord, & "to those who trust, they will not be disappointed."

Matt will always live in the hearts of many and also remains a hero for eternity. Condolences to the Redding Family and the Navarette Family..let the memories soothe your pain and the future of a reunion warm your heart. That is a promise from the Lord...stay with that thought.
God bless you.

Matt, I can't believe it's been six months since you left us that tragic morning. Everytime I hear central say over the radio "Rocklin PD in the back with one", I only wish it was YOU coming through those doors with your BIG smile before and after you'd say "Whazzz up". No matter what was going on that would always brighten up my night.
We all miss you so much. You are a true hero to all of us, we will always remember your devotion to the Badge and the Bible, what an inspritation you were and still are to all of us.
Until we meet again.
