To the family and friends of Special Agent Eric Sullivan and his fellow agents with the US Dept of State - Diplomatic Security Service:

I was so saddened to read about the tragic circumstances in which Agent Sullivan was brutally murdered. On behalf of our entire family, I wish to extend our sincerest condolences for the grievous loss you have suffered.

In reading the reflections about Eric, it is obvious he was well respected by his peers. Eric's valor and dedication to his job and the security of our nation will never be forgotten.

May his family be comforted by the law enforcement community. other police survivors, and your Marine family. Our family grieves with you and for you. We too share your anquish as we lost our beloved Larry Lasater of the Pittsburg Police Dept. when he was fatally shot this April during a foot pursuit of two bank robbers. Larry had also served in the Marines before going into law enforcement. Larry had been a tank commander and his last assignment in active duty was as a ceres commander at the Depot. Two months after my son was murdered on the streets of Pittsburg, he received deployment orders for Iraq.

Larry and Eric were brothers in green as well as brothers in blue. "Once a Marine, Always a Marine" Not everyone understands what true patriotism means, but I believe that everyone who knew Eric and Larry knows that these two men lived their life with a profound sense of duty, and each had an impact on people around them.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the many years of service Eric gave to man, community, and country, and the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on September 19, 2005.

Sully was a good man and a breath of fresh air for DSS on the Ambassador's Detail in Afghanistan. I worked with him for a few months at the end of my year tour in Kabul. He was a very competant AIC and was very reasonable about what he wanted from the guys on the detail. Im sure he will be missed by all. God Bless all those that fight the good fight.

The global brotherhood of Marines lost one of it's own. Just as well as the global brotherhood of Police Officers lost one of it's own.

As long as we keep remembering... Agent Sullivan never really dies.
