Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Sergeant Denny F. "Boe" Gallaway, Jr.

When asking someone how to spell their last name today, they responded-"all As"-without skipping a beat. When I started smiling, I had to explain that you used to do that when correcting someone about your last name. It's the little things I suppose...
Its been a few years since I have been on here, so I went back and read a few of the messages. Good to see some of the guys thinking about you, miss them!
Miss you-Love you.

A friend.

Tomorrow will be 13 years since you were taken from us. The boys are grown & moved out of the house beginning their own lives. Wish I could share this time of my life with you. We miss and love you so much.

I don't know what it is about today...but it seems like the weight of the world is crashing down on me. Who listens to the listener after all that was needed has been said? You were my listener...and I need you today. I want you to tell me to "shut up" or "pull yourself together" or "it'll be okay"...something, anything. I hear your laugh over and over in my head daily when I do something goofy or something happens we would find funny... Everyday there is something that I want to tell you!
I miss you. I love you.

A friend.

Knowing what tomorrow is, as always, I look you up...
So much has changed since you left. I still cannot believe it. In a dream, I walk into my office to find you sitting behind my desk, feet propped up, with a big goofy smile asking-"where ya been girlfriend?". I miss you, Boe. A lot. Love you.

Your are a true Hero who gave your all to save the lives of others in your community. That is what you have been doing as a U.S. Marine even before you signed on with Law Enforcement. Thank you for your service, and condolences to first, your family, then your friends and co-workers. You will be missed by many, and by many like myself who have never even met you!

10 years today!!! Seems like it was just yesterday. You made such an impact on everyone that you meet, and me as well. You are a main reason why I love this job and wouldn't want to do anything else.

I geared up and went out this morning with a team to serve a warrant and every time I do, you are with me. Every time takes me back more than 10 years to when we were all together. I guess you'll always be there as long as I'm still out here.
Miss ya bro
