Tara,

What can I say, we had a great life growing up together. I will miss you soo much. You will never know how much you mean to me. Even though you moved away from me when were thirteen, we kept in touch like we still lived near each other. I love you!

This horrendous tragedy has affected our local law enforcement community in a way like no other I have seen in my years on the job. Our thoughts, prayers and good deeds must go out in all directions. It is now up to us to support and help heal all of those who have suffered during this heartbreaking event. I don't think Tara would want it any other way.
Tara, you would be so proud of your Family. They have taught us a lesson in grace, dignity and compassion. It is a honor to be in their presence. I stand in awe of them. You would be so proud of your classmates, who closed ranks and continued on despite their grief and sadness. I know you would be grateful for your instructors, who with vigor and valor fought to save you. Your Department has shown such professionalism, honor and courage, I know you would be impressed, we all are. You would be honored by the outpouring of respect shown to you by your fellow Officers from across this state. It brought tears to my eyes to see the Citizens standing along the road way showing their respect and admiration.
You have touched so many of us in so many ways. I like many others never knew you in life, but you have touched me and I know I am a better person for it. Your tour of duty was far too short, yet the impact you had is far beyond measure.Your life was not in vain. Rest well my sister we are eternally grateful.

Sgt. John H. Tolbert
Roswell Georgia Police Department.
