Daniel "kelso" Golden is one of the finest Officers I have ever served with. Kelso always had a smile on his face, and did his best to make everyone around him smile. Words can't express the saddness and pain I'm feeling now. To the Golden family, I am so sorry for this. Kelso, it was an honor to serve beside you, I love you brother.....

I never met this fine brave officer in person, but I knew him, for he wore a badge. To officer Golden's family. Where he is now, policemen are not needed. Heaven has not the problems that we have. I will assure you that his brother and sister officers in Decatur feel a tremendous loss. Rest In Peace Officer Golden, thanks for the courage that it took to "Protect and To Serve."

I was watching the news and i realized that Officer Golden was the cop who took the time to pull over and help me when my car broke down. I didnt know him, but he seems to be really nice. I have my last name tattooed on my back and he thaught it said "GOLDEN". God bless his family and friends.

Daniel truly was one of Huntsville Police Departments finest officers. He was a well respected officer and truly loved his job of helping others. Our prayers are with his family in this tragic time. I know that another angel has been called home to be with God. Daniel is now watching over all of us from Heaven. I hope that punishment for the assailant is swift and severe. Dee you and your family are constantly in our thoughts and prayers.

Officer Golden took a missing person's report for my schizophrenic, drug-addicted brother late last year. When I saw such a youngster walk up, I expected him to smirk or otherwise not care -- who cares if a crazy addict is missing? He was so professional and polite that it blew me and my nephews away. I wish I'd called his Chief and praised him while I had the chance. RIP, Officer Golden.

God Interviews A Cop

The Cop stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, Cop.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you alway turned the other cheek?
To my Church, have you been true?"

The Cop squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
Can't always be a Saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was rough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills just got too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't...I'll understand."

There was silence all around the throne
Where the Saints had often trod.
As the Cop waited quietly,
For the judgement of his God.

"Step forward now, Cop,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell.
