I am so sorry that once again a husband and father has been taken in a senseless act of violence. I am grateful to Officer Golden for his sacrifice. And to all other officers that put our safety above their own on a daily basis. I hope that no one misses a chance to tell those babies what a hero their Daddy is. God bless the "thin blue line.'

WHY??????
No one knows, only God. Just remember that God says blessed are the peace makers. Matthew 5:9. I did not know you Daniel, but my husband worked side by side with you everyday and he tells me that you were not only an outstanding individual, but an outstanding person as well. I will continually pray for your family and everyone that knew you and was affected by your very untimely and terrifying death. We all love and miss you dearly. Peace be with your family and co-workers.

My heart is breaking for the Golden family. I just cannot express how I feel about this. I thank God every day for the police officers we have her in Huntsville and everywhere. They all risk their lives every day and never do they get a kind thank you. I cry every time I see on the news the vidoe of all the HPD cars leading that ambulance with Officer Golden to the hospital. It just gives me chills. I thank his wife and family for the ultimate sacrifice they gave. To "protect and serve" is all these guys are out to do and they never getthe credit they deserve. We have lost another one of Huntsville's finest and my heart goes out to everyone who knew him. I did not, but I sure feel the pain. May God be with you (especially those children) and all of your family as well as the HPD to see you all through this time of mourning. You will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. I love you all! Officer Golden, your work is done and now you may rest in peace. Justice WILL prevail!

Golden's family, friends and co-workers:
I can't even put into words how sorry I am. I'm praying for all of you. Kelso was a special man and he made the HPD proud with the kind of person and officer he was. My husband truely loved and admired him. May God comfort all of your hearts.

So many things to say to the Golden family.....
I had not seen Daniel in years but I do remember in College with David seeing him and meeting the rest of your fine family for the first time. Who would have ever guessed Daniel and I would share the same profession...When David called me tonight I was simply stunned. We had just talked about Daniel on Sunday evening.
Take comfort in knowing Daniel is now in a better place where Policemen are not needed. From reading others reflections and simply knowing your family, Daniel was an outstanding person and a great Officer. I know Daniel loved his job and loved you even more.
I know it is hard but hang in there. Daniel would want that from you. We are all here for you as Brothers in Blue.

Daniel Golden, or "Kelso,"
The wounds to your body have run deep into our hearts, yet we are comforted knowing no bullet touched your soul. You are missed. Your family will be cared for, your life will be held up in remembrance, and your sacrifice will never be forgotten. It has been an honor to work with you, be a sergeant who served you, and most importantly, be able to call you friend. Thank you for all you gave.

I am truly sorry this type of crime had to happen. We as police officers answer all kinds of calls not knowing what to expect when we get there. To the family and friends I grieve with you at this time. I believe God is always in control and guides our every move. So trust in him.

I worked with Daniel a few years at VAW in Fayetteville, Tn. and considered him a true friend there. I will always remember his good nature and always the ability to share a good laugh, even if it was at himself. That was the kind of guy he was, someone who no matter what, could see things for what they were! You will be missed by more people than you could ever imagine! I only hope you find the true peace you deserve my friend! Say hello to Heaven.........

DAN,
You came to me for training after your graduation from our Academy. You told me that you learned much from me but I had not told you recently just how much I learned from you, my brother. I, like everyone else that had the honor to serve with you, were forever changed by your wit, charm and sense of humor. Mine and Robin's life will be forever enhanced having known you while you were here with us. God's speed and know that YOU LIVE on in ALL OUR HEARTS and SOULS.
REST IN PEACE DANO..............
