I did not know "Kelso", however my sympathy goes out to his family. He did his job, he answered a cry for help, he stood the fight without a second thought. He was a Hero! My heart goes out to all the HPD Officers, stay strong because God now has another Blue Angel in his ranks.

To the family of Officer Golden please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many people especially the thankful citizens in Huntsville. I have friends and family members who are officers and I am so grateful that there are wonderful and brave people like Officer Golden to risk their lives to protect the lives of complete strangers. Officer Golden, along with all other officers, are a rare breed who are very honorable people and do not deserve to be taken away from their families over senseless violence. May God be with you and your family at this time Officer Golden. Most of all THANK YOU for your service to our community. God Bless.

Daniel, I did not know you well, But I did come to know you a little as you worked the desk in the PSB. No matter how hard a shift we had you always would tell us to have a great day as we left the building and you had a smile on your face. I did get to talk to you several times and we had some good conversations. you are a true HERO in all of our eyes! We will miss that smile you had as you brought us the bad guys and you always put the smile on our face. My friend your work on earth is done and you can rest easy knowing that. "Always remembered and never forgotten"

To the family and friends of Officer Daniel Golden and his law enforcement family in Huntsville Police Department:

On behalf of our family, we wish to extend our deepest condolences to all of you for the grievous loss you suffered when Daniel was so brutally murdered. It is so tragic that this young officer died so young leaving a loving wife and two young children. To his parents and the rest of his family, I grieve for you and with you. My family shares your same anquish and suffering as we lost our beloved Larry Lasater of the Pittsburg Police Department when he was fatally shot on April 23, 2005. I know that you will be embraced by the circle of love and support that comes from the brotherhood and sisterhood of law enforcement. Know that Daniel's valor and bravery will be forever remembered and honored. This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Daniel gave to his community in Huntsville and the citizens of Alabama, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made in the line of duty.

You came to Huntsville and put smiles on hundreds of faces. We already miss you. While it is commanded that each of us will someday die, what more noble, proud way for a man to go than to stand tall and face his fears against overwelming odds. You did good Son! I am proud of you and was blessed to have known you.

Daniel, I want to say it was a privelge and an honor to have been able to work along side with you. You brought professionalism and integity, along with laughter and smiles to the job. We answered some calls together and worked some "details" that we had fun with. You were always thinking of helping other Officers while you were at work. I received many phone calls from you, making sure the "old guys" got their dinner or went home on time. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. You will be sadly missed my brother. May you be in peace.

I have only lived in the neighborhood for a little over a year, but while my house was being built Daniel was looking out for it. I greatly appreciate this. I am so sorry for your loss. I have great respect and admiration for Huntsville's Finest, my brother is an HPD officer as well. I just want the family to know that my family is thinking of them and that they are in our prayers.

I remember just the other day we were sitting outside the courtroom and you were telling all your stories about the overtime details you worked. That was probably the funniest stuff I've ever heard. I still laugh when I think about it. You will be greatly missed Brother.
