Reflections for Police Officer Daniel Howard Golden
Officer Golden you gave the ultimate sacrifice for your chosen profession of Law Enforcement. It is something that, as Law Enforcement Officers, we keep in the back of our minds on a daily basis. May God Bless your family and take you into his presence.

Daniel touched so many lives just by his presence. He was able to help my sister out of a bad situation in Huntsville last year just because he was the officer on-duty and responding to a call. I believe that partly because of him she was able to move on with her life and make a new start minus the corrupt life she had been living. Dianna and Kenneth - You have raised both your boys to be fine men. May God bless all of you and comfort you in the time of sorrow. To the Huntsville PD - Always keep your brother in your hearts.
God Bless!

Thank you for your service to the people of Huntsville, Alabama. We will not forget you. Rest assured that your brothers and sisters in law enforcement have apprehended the perpetrator of this horrible act and that they will pay, not only through the legal system, but in the end, they will pay at the hands of God. You are safe now, you will face no more fear and no more pain. I can only imagine you are sitting in heaven holding the child you lost years ago.
God Bless You and your family!

I went to LCHS with Daniel, I was 1 year behind him, so I only knew him for 2 years. What I do know about Daniel was he was always smiling, and there was never a dull moment where ever he was.. There was never a time that i would pass him in the hallway, or see him on the weekends, that he would not speak, or wave. A tradegy like this is so hard to cope with, especially when "it hits home".
There is nothing that can justify what happened to you Daniel, but your memories, and your smile will always be with everyone who know you!!!!
I work in Fayetteville, and a lot of my co-workers knew you also, and our hearts go out to your family, and please know that you are a hero, and you have "Served and Protected."
YOU ARE IN A FAR BETTER PLACE THAN ANY OF US ON EARTH ARE.

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.
Today, September 2, 2005 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Police Officer Daniel H. Golden who died in the line of duty just four days ago.
When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.
Officer Golden's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Our community has lost a great man. Daniel had more influence on people than he realized. My children attended church and Vacation Bible School with him as youngsters, and they always held him in the highest regard. It's so refreshing to see young people who are not afraid to share their faith with others as he often did. God Bless You, Daniel, and may He hold your family in his loving arms in the days ahead.

To the family of Officer Golden-- I am so sorry for your loss and hope the words posted here are of comfort to you. I never met Daniel, but after reading how wonderful he was, I wish I would have.
To the entire HPD-- Please know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers, especially during this trying time. It pains us to see our Credit Union family hurting and if there is anything we can do for any of you, just ask. Be careful out there... and THANK YOU for everything.

I got the chance to meet Officer Golden on two occations. I was an observer, I never got a chance to ride with him, but I did get the chance to talk with. I will never forget what he said to me "Its your size, Its how well you are with people that makes you a good officer." You will be missed.

To Off. Golden's family and brotherhood-
I have family and close friends who are police officers and my heart breaks for you. I keep hearing that Daniel's death was 'useless' and 'senseless'. It was neither. His duty on earth is still going strong. You see, he saved a baby's life Tuesday August 30. A girl came in with thoughts of abortion but said she could no longer go through with it because she knew after all that she was hearing about Daniel Golden's life that she could no longer 'take a life' like the person who took Daniel's life. Daniel's work on earth is far from finished. Sometime in April there will be a child born because of what Daniel stood for. I hope it's a boy and that she names him 'Daniel'. 'Well done good and faithful servant'.

To the Golden Family,
I knew Daniel as a boy ,cause I worked with his mother at Lee Jeans in Fayetteville. He was always so kinda to our daughter who thought of him and David as brothers. We use to carry her the football games to watch David play and Daniel would pick at her. The loss upsets me terribly . The family is in my prayers.I pray God will strenghten and protect ya'll as you go throught this time.

May God be with you and your family in this difficult time. David, my heart goes out to you-I personally know how it is to lose a sibling, especially when you feel it is not their time to go. God had a much bigger job for Daniel. I will never forget you Daniel.

Kelso, today we will lay you to rest. For me and your other Brothers and Sisters, this will be one of the hardest things we will EVER have to do. I will definately miss you walking by my office and poking your head in and just smiling before going out in the field. I feel very priviledged to have been able to talk to you Sunday night when you arrested the man in the stolen car and yes, I did get the paperwork you said that you would slide under my door. You will always be in our thoughts and your family will be watched over. We Miss and Love You Kelso.

"Not gold, but only man can make a people great and strong - men who for truth and honor's sake, stand fast and suffer long. Brave men who work while others sleep, who dare while others fly. They build a nation's pillars deep and lift them to the sky."
Rest in peace and may God grant your family and friends the strength to continue on with the knowledge that they will see you again.

Monday evening Aug 22 my son called to say he was in a car accident in Research Park. My husband and I went to the crash. Officer Golden responded. He was so kind, calling my son "partner" putting him at ease and telling him "accidents happen, that's why they call them accidents". Officer Golden stayed with us the entire time until the wrecker took the car away. He was a kind, caring professional, what a tragic loss to his family at home and his work family of the Huntsville police department. Your in my prayers.

I wish that I had had the chance to get to know you better Daniel. The times that we did meet were so great; you are one of the funniest men that I have ever met. You always made me feel completely comfortable and welcomed, and when hanging out with a bunch of cops that isn't always easy. I will always think of you and smile when I remember your karaoke singing. Jason was so fond of you and thought and spoke so highly of you all the time. There is a big part of this community missing now, all because of a senseless tragedy and an evil man. Your fellow officers are completely heartbroken because of this loss. My prayers are with Dee and the rest of your family, and I thank God that I had the opportunity to know this wonderful man.
