Eric,

I don't even know what it was today that triggered me but I started thinking about you and needed to find some connection. I found your sister on face book and let her know we had been friends through the Air Force. I just want so bad to let those close to you know how incredible you were as a friend which sounds incredibly stupid since I'm sure they experienced it too. Like I said to your family on here when I first heard of your passing in 2010 people like you are few and far between. I also found a picture of your son today WOW does he look like you. I wonder if he has all your crazy facial expressions. Anyway I guess this is an unusual way to satisfy my need to communicate with you but just so you know I am still thinking about you brother! If any family would like to contact me I am on face book or you can text my cell @ (816)808-8725

Eric, Natalie, and Derrick

I'm sorry I haven't left a message sooner. I'm not much with the internet. Eric, this time of year I can't help think of the time that you and Fat Dog were living above what is now "Lil Nonies" and I stopped in for a couple. There was flooding going on and Fat Dog called the automated service that tells what the Hudson River level is in North Creek. During the call the phone went dead and you and Griffen went nuts about how a flood was coming and we had to get out of there. I almost puked laughing!!! We both end up becoming cops later in life and I remember seeing you one night at the Black Bear and talking shop with you. You were so proud of working with the ECSD. (and rightfully so!)...Natalie, we only met once or twice and you may not even remember me, but I married Tammy Dunkley and my in-laws live right up the street. You and your son are in our thoughts every single time we pass your house going up to the Dunkley house or Newcomb. By all means if there is anything our family can do for you, contact Kim Mcall up the street (Tammy's sister)....Derrick, I have never met you, but I have a good hunch of the man you will grow up to be. You will cherish family, life, and an ability to laugh at everything... including your self. I know this because I knew this of your father, and I miss him like you all do, every day.

God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain; but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way.

Rest in peace.

To Eric's Family

My name is Brad Barreth, I was stationed with Eric in Germany. I recieved word of this by a email while i was at work, I just hit the floor. Me and Eric were from two different worlds, i'm from Georgia and he from New York but we quickly became best of friends. I think i got him started watching nascar and listening to country music. Eric had a way of always picking me up when I was down with that little smerk. Eric was a wonderful person and I miss him so much. We laughed and cried together and im glad I had the opportunity to serve with Eric and I will never forget him.......

Loiselle Family,

Eric and I served together in the Air Force. I only recently learned of his passing through a mutual friend while trying to locate him. We were stationed together in Germany where we became good friends and played numerous practical jokes on each other. I still remember the time I nailed his sandals to the dorm room floor. I always enjoyed getting him to crack that smug smile of his. After moving on to different bases we were reunited in Saudi Arabia. It was such a pleasant surprise to see him when I arrived. We roomed together in Kobar Towers and became inseparable during our 3 month stay. He cracked me up with his wacky sense of humor and made the deployment a good time.
Eric was such a genuine person with a very unique and likeable personality. Being in the military I have met a lot of people and left a lot of friends behind but he definitely made an impression on me. I was so exited to possibly get in touch with him and devastated to hear of the tragedy. I had hoped the information I had been given was incorrect. It hit me like a ton of bricks when I saw his picture in this memorial and new it was truly him. People like Eric are few and far between and I know his character made a great husband and fun dad.
I wish you all the best. I’m proud to have known Eric and just wanted to let you know he is living on in the fond memories I have of our time together.

My dearest Eric,

Thank you for keeping watch over us and helping me with raising our son. I can't believe that Derrick will be in 2nd grade already this September. There are so many things that I wish you would have been able to share with him and he with you. He has been physically without you now more than he had you cuddling him those first three years. I am sure that you are very proud of him as I am. He is very proud of his DAD! We miss you very much!
