I still hear your keys jingling in your pocket, dad. Mom told me last night that you'd found "Johnny Mac". He died yesterday and she said you'd been looking for him since April. Each day is a new struggle. I pray that God continues to send comfort our way. If it were not for that we'd be hopeless. I love you.

The date of your death, 8-9-05...The number eight in the Bible means, "a new beginning", the number nine, "the fruit of the spirit", and the number five, "death". This man genuinely showed each of the fruits of the Spirit and even in his death it shows.

Dennis, I never met your dad, but from everything I hear and read, he was a fine Christian man. Working with you in the past, I recognized right away the good qualities that you had. I now realize they must have been taught to you by your dad. Take comfort in the fact that he is in heaven, walking the street of gold with Jesus. You will see him again some day and I know that I will have the privilege of meeting him also. Keep the faith. God will continue to bless you and your family.

We are honored, as the family of Wayne Morgan, that you all have left such touching reflections of our father, husband, brother, grandfather. He was a great man to us but we were so unaware that he stood out as such a great man to everyone else in our community. He was like that...very meek and quiet, never seeking self-recognition for anything he did...only to give. He was a strong man in faith and only wanted to share his faith with everyone that he met. He believed that God's love was meant to be shared...how wonderful!!! God's love is what graced my father in his life and it is God's love that has embraced us when his life was so wretchedly taken.
Thank you all for honoring his memory in such a manner as this...I'm sure he would turn around and give honor to each and everyone more deserving than himself. Please continue to remember us in prayer in the coming days. It is very hard to even sit here and type this without welling up with tears. Our loss is great...but his gain is even greater.

While it is no consolation for your loss, our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and fellow officers of Officer Morgan.
While no member of our agency had the privilege to have known him personally, we are certain that he has found a place in heaven through his selfless service to those he swore to protect.
Rest in peace officer; those of us who remain will cover your post on the thin blue line.

"No greater Love"...
Officer Morgan put his life on the line daily. He loved his family, his co-workers and those that he came in contact with, both good and bad. He proved just how great his love is when he gave his life in the line of duty.
May God comfort, bless and strengthen Officer Morgans' family, fellow officers and friends. "Go Rest High On The Mountain".

When God Made Police Officers . . .
When the Lord was creating Police Officers, He was into his sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared and said,
"You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one."
And the Lord said, "Have you read the requirements on this
order? A Police Officer has to be able to run five miles through alleys in the dark, scale walls, enter homes the health inspector wouldn't touch, and not wrinkle their uniform."
"They have to be able to sit in an undercover car all day on a stakeout, cover a homicide scene that night, canvass the neighborhood for witnesses, and testify in court the next day."
"They have to be in top physical condition at all times,
running on black coffee and half-eaten meals, and they have to have six pairs of hands."
The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands . . . no way!!"
"It's not the hands that are causing me problems," said the Lord, "it's the three pairs of eyes an officer has to have."
"That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.
The Lord nodded. "One pair that sees through a bulge in a pocket before they ask, 'May I see what's in there, sir?'"
(when they already know and wish they'd taken that accounting job) "Another pair here in the side of their head for their partner's safety, and another pair of eyes here in front so they can look reassuringly at a bleeding victim and say, 'You'll be alright, ma'am,' when they know it isn't so."
"Lord," said the angel, touching His sleeve, "rest and work on this tomorrow."
"I can't," said the Lord, "I already have a model that can talk a 250 pound drunk into a patrol car without incident and feed a family of five on a civil service paycheck."
The angel circled the model of the Police Officer very slowly. "Can it think?" she asked.
"You bet," said the Lord, "it can tell you the elements of a hundred crimes, recite Miranda warnings in its sleep, detain, investigate, search, and arrest a gang member on the street in less time than it takes five learned judges to debate the legality of the stop . . . and still it keeps its sense of humor. This officer also has phenomenal personal control. They can deal with crime scenes painted in hell, coax a confession from a child abuser, comfort a murder victim's family, and then read in the daily paper how law enforcement isn't sensitive to the rights of criminal suspects."
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the Police Officer. "There's a leak," she pronounced, "I told you that you were trying to put too much into this model."
"That's not a leak," said the Lord. "It's a tear."
"What's the tear for?" asked the angel.
"It's for bottled-up emotions, for fallen comrades, for commitment to that funny piece of cloth called the American flag, for justice."
"You're a genius," said the angel.
The Lord looked somber. "I didn't put it there," He said.

From what I know of your tour and your career as a corrections officer, you were a very dedicated and disciplined man. My step sister selfifhly took your life and for that act I am forever ashamed to call her my sister. Someday I would like to meet your family and let them know how deeply sorry we are and how tragic this is. Please be at peace in heaven and I will see you there later on.

Nevertheless, rest assure that your fellow Officers will carry your torch and continue to provide safety and security for the public, themselves, and yes even inmates. Our love and prayers are with Cotton's family, a truly close friend of my husbands. You were a "ROCK" for us all. Brushy will not be the same without you nor will our lives. A piece of our heart died that day when such a terrilbe act of "EVIL" took you out of this world. Never in a million years did I think one of you would not be returning home on August 9, 2005. But God has a bigger plan than we can see, YOUR FAITH, the LOVE you lived your life with lives on, even in death.
There is alot of "EVIL" in this world and sometimes we lose sight of "ALL" that is "GOOD". Our hearts are overwhelmed for all the LOVE and SUPPORT Cotton's family has been shown. Thank You to all Law enforcement from across this great NATION of ours, for your show of support.
