I am just a citizen who's heart is so saddened for this man and his family and all his fellow officers. I pray these people are caught and punishment is quick and severe. This is so senseless. May God comfort this great man's family through this unbelievable incident. I salute him and the entire law enforcement men and women across this nation.

Officer Morgan, you will be sadly missed. The past 20 years as a co-worker have been wonderful! Your testimony lets us know that today you are with the Heavenly Father. It will be hard not seeing Officer Morgan each morning at 7am to get you on the road...God Bless and give peace to those you leave behind.
"A Correctional Officer's Prayer"

Lord, I ask for courage,
Courage to face and conquer my own fears,
Courage to take me where others will not go,
I ask for strength,
Strength of body to protect others,
Strength of Spirit to lead others,
I ask for dedication,
Dedication to my job, to do it well,
Dedication to my community, to keep it safe,
Give me, Lord, concern, for all those who trust me,
And compassion for those who need me,
And please, Lord, through it all,
Be at my side....

He walked life’s lonely path with honor, Lord,
Protecting those you sent his way…
Until, at last, with task well done,
Your call is heard today.
We hear you saying:
“Come, my friend, with me apart…from years of service rest.
You’ve helped the poor, protected all, you’ve passed Life’s every test.
You did not falter, did not fail though weary was your soul
I saw your tears, I felt your fears…I helped you toward your goal.
Beneath that badge there beat a heart, strong, courageous, true…
then duty called, you answered, my hero dressed in blue!
Come, my friend, your reward awaits: the law you did obey.
Faithful through life’s endless storms you showed my people the way.
Your beat is ended; roll call’s done! Now, rest on Heaven’s shore.
The good you did so willingly will remain forever more.”
Thank you; Father, for your great love as we cherish his memory dear
We offer this brave soul to you…be with him ever near.
And when, at last, we hear your call may we each take our place
On Heaven’s shore, eternal home, beneath your kindly gaze.

The Officer's stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
They hoped their shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as their brass.

"Step forward now, Officers.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"

The men squared their shoulders and
The Policeman spoke first
"No, Lord, I guess We ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.

We've had to work most Sundays,
and at times our talk was rough,
and sometimes we've been violent,
Because the streets are tough.

The Corrections Officer then added,
But we never took a penny,
That wasn't ours to keep...
Though we worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.

And we never passed a cry for help,
Though at times we shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive us,
We've wept unmanly tears.

Together they say,
We know We don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted us around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for us here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
We never expected or had too much,
But if you don't...We'll understand.

There was silence around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the Officers waited quietly,
For the judgment of their God.

"Step forward now, Officers,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

Your family is in our prayers

So many officers in the corrections line of work do this kind of transport every day. It makes us all sad and we do stop for a moment and realize just what all is going on in this great big world around us. My condolences to the family of this brave and honorable man for the job he chose and for performing it to the best of his ability. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Another one of our Brothers has givin his life to make us all safe. Officer Morgan stood by his oath to the end. Officer Morgan, you stood your ground to protect the innocent from the enemy. A part of Law Enforcement died with you today. All of your brothers and sisters in Law Enforcement will continue to protect and serve in your name for the people. God Bless you and your family. And even though there is no real way to express this statement enough, we all say THANK YOU!

Thank you for your hard work! You will never be forgotten. I will keep your family in my thoughts. To all the other officers- when you find these cowards, make them pay the ultimate sacrafice. Do NOT let them off the easy way! I hope they don't come forward and turn themselves in so you all can find them and make sure justice is served. They definitely do not deserve to live in this lifetime.

To The Family Of Correctional Officer
Wayne Morgan: You folks have my deepest
sympathy. I will include you all in my
prayers. I do not know Officer Morgan
but, I do not have to.....he is one of
the 'brotherhood' forever. Presently,
I am a deputy with L.A.County Sheriff,
(24 years) and a retired Master Sergeant
-Air Force Reserve Security Police. I
used to be a 'Federal Correctional Officer' before I came on with LASD. I
can relate to the often times-'thankless' job of a CORRECTIONAL OFFICER. "C.O.'s" work the toughest beat
in the country. They deserve a lot more
recognition and respect, than they usually get, from the public and ,even other law enforcement officers. I know
you all are very proud of Wayne. We all
are. God bless you all and, may the Lord comfort you all at this time. May
Correctional Officer Wayne Morgan Rest
In Peace. - Larry Breazeale,

I, like so many others in Kingston and Roane County, am in shock from this terrible tragedy. How could this happen in our beautiful, little piece of the world? I would like to express my most sincere condolences to Officer Morgan's family. I will never again pass by the courthouse without saying a prayer for you.

My deepest sympathy to you, your family and the Tennessee Department of Corrections for their loss. They (as a lot of others) are greatly saddened by the sacrifice.

We can only hope and pray the escapee(s) and their accomplice(s) are caught swiftly and punished to the maximum extent for their actions. They are not deservant of a trial for their actions, even though our Constitution guarantees them that right...
