Reflections for Police Officer Nels Daniel "Dan" Niemi
I miss you dearly Danny, but I do know that you keep watch over your wife and children, and THAT touches me! I know that your light shines BRIGHT for all who cared for you, and that you cared for. Writing was a passion of yours. I will continure that candle for you, with your angelic guidance. A powerful person in life and earth, and even more powerful in spirit.

Dear Dan,
Today is Nevada Day and my girls will be walking in the parade, thanking and celebrating all who have served on both foreign and home land. They will proudly carry your photo along with photos of my families fellow officers who continue to serve today.
How I miss you. How often I think of you. How I wish you were still here. In college we promised to make a difference. You did your job and I continue to do mine. You continue to live in so many heart. It helps me to read their comments and know they continue to post. Never to be forgotten.
I have to tell you it still hurts. I check in on your Mom and Dad from time to time. They are so you. Keep being my angel.
See you later.
Big hugs, Priscilla

I knew Danny from grade school untill he quit the liqour store and went to collage. He introduced me to my wife.
Both our fathers were airline pilots. We lost communication in the 80s and I have just now heard of his passing. I always knew he would grow up to be Capt. Kirk.

Hi Dan. I know it's been awhile since we last spoke, but I want you to know, that there has not been one day in my life that I have not thought about you. I can't believe it's 2012. I just wanted to say "Hi" Dan, and I miss talking with you.

Dan...
It's Jan 1st 2012. And, I actually just found out about your passing. Quite honestly, I don't think it has sunken in yet.
I remember you vividly from the DSC days before you became a police officer. You taught me how to shoot... well not quite... but you did teach me how to shoot fast, accurately and safely.
I am glad that at least the vermin who took you from us got the death penalty. Rest in peace Dan.

Hi Dan.
Ran into Lou from the DSC last night at a school function. It brought so many fun memories back. I think of you all the time with loss, but it was so nice to be able to remember all the fun we had, what we learned, the new friends we made, all because of you. You still have an effect on the lives you touched every day...
Love you and miss you,
April

Dan, your heroism and service is honored today, the 5th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. Prior to your death, I had attended two law enforcement funerals: Ray's service and Larry's. Yours was the first I attended after we lost Larry. Unfortunately, since then we have paid our respects to other fallen comrades. They are always painful, but we must be there.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. I am thinking of your parents today.
Rest In Peace.

My brother ... My friend ... it has been 5 years since you were tragically taken from this beat. Your memory has never faded nor will it. We still speak of you, your words, your stories, your kind and generous heart. Missing you always, but just a little more today. Please continue to watch over us as you continue to patrol from above.
