Reflections for Police Officer Owen David Fisher

Officer Fisher,
You and your family are in our prayers. Your time as an officer will not be measured by months but by the sacrifice you've made. Rest Easy Brother !

How terrible- another officer giving his life at such a young age. I will be praying for your family and friends as they start the grieving period and probably the hardest thing to go through in their lives. You were taken from them way too early. Thank you for what you have done; you will never be forgotten.

To the family and friends of Officer Fisher, please know that everything happens for a reason. Although sometimes it's hard to fathom why and you all, like myself may never know why. I too, lost someone very dear to me last year who was a passenger during a chase. There will be good days when memories flood your mind and all you can do is smile at the thought of Officer Fisher. Then days when you feel as though if you take one more breath your heart will burst. Take each day one at a time and trust in God that he will take care of you. You now have your very own angel.

Go fast Officer Fisher into the arms of our Ultimate Protector. We will all meet one day. Tell Shane I love you for me and try to keep him out of trouble.

Such a tragic story. To many times we have to hear about another officer lost. My the Lord bless your family and friends. To Owen's family and friends - Trust in Jesus and He'll pull you through this and you will see Owen again. My brother was only 26 when he also died on duty in a car accident. You'll never get over it, but time does help some. Rest assured that there is a better day coming.

I have followed the coverage of Officer Fisher's death on the news. Not so long ago, I watched the same coverage about my son. My heart aches to know you are also sharing in that bottomless pit of grief. Please know you are not alone. The survivors in Michigan and all over the country are with you in spirit with their prayers and love. We have all walked in your shoes, and share your pain.

MI-COPS will be there like your guardian angels as they were for all of us. They will always be there for you to help you as you travel this long, difficult road.

You are in my prayers. Your son sounds like a dedicated hero who was following a dream that not many can do.

Fisher will always be remembered by me as a super-star! His personal drive as a student in the Academy is an example on "how to do it" for future new officers. He loved Flint and it was his dream to work there, Well Fisher, You landed that job and your life-long dream was attained so there is no regrets brother.

Its very hard as a Police Trainer to lose one of your own kids, but its the life of a warrior. To be willing to sacrifice. Some may think its not fair and blame. There is no place for blame. Ask yourself this.. "Did I ever do it perfect?" The answer.. "no." Just learn from it, suck it up, and driv on. My heart goes out to the family, friends, trainers, and co-workers of Fisher. God Bless the Flint Police Department and I hope the other officers involved find themselves at peace.

I will see you on the high ground Fisher.

Stay alert..Stay alive!!

May god be with the family of Ofc Fisher, and the men and women of the Flint Police Dept.

Having grown up in Flint, I can truly say that the professionalism and dedication that was always evident by members of the Flint PD was an inspiration for me to seek a career in law enforcement.

May the family of Ofc Fisher take comfort in knowing that he was a true hero, and was making a difference by keeping the streets of Flint safe.
