To the Family, friends and THP members. Our heart goes out to the Larkins family and THP. I consider Todd a friend as I met him over two years ago while working a crash. I am a former Alabama Trooper and as I sat in a motel reading the USA Today I saw the news. I truly could not beleive this had happened. My God Bless you Todd.

We cannot know why God chooses to take our brightest and best. It is always heartbreaking when young officers who dedicate themselves to serving the public and protecting us from harm meet a violent and tragic end. May your family and co-workers be comforted by the knowledge that you join those fine law enforcement officers who have gone before you and you now reside in God's heaven. Peace to you young trooper.

With deepest regards and sympathy for TROOPER Todd Larkins and family. Who would have known that our conversation just a few short weeks ago would be our last hello and our last goodbye. I can't seem to shake that heavy pounding of my heart the day that I received that awful news that you were no longer with us. You brought joy and peace to those that knew you and for that you will never be forgotten. As a classmate,a friend and a Law Enforcement brother the void that you leave in our hearts will never be filled. May GOD be with you as you Rest In Peace.

My best friend was killed in a very similar incident on I-40 in North Carolina just two years ago. He to left behind a small child to go on without a father. Lean on each other and when that is not enough, lean on God. You will make it through this!! My prayers will be for your family tonight and may Trooper Larkin watch over us tonight and ask that God keep the rest of us from having to make the same sacrifice.

Trp. Larkins, I met you while you were in the academy, and I thought to my self that you would be one of those troopers, that wear the uniform with pride. I served as a dispatcher for THP-Nashville District from 1999-2001. I was there when we lost Trp Lynn Ross, Trp John Robert Davis, and Trp John Mann. I know sometimes that we don't understand why things like this happens, but all we can do is have faith and complete trust in GOD. I know that now you are in the company of other brothers and sisters who have given their life so that we may feel safe. Just know that you will never be forgotten and when you see both John Robert Davis and John Mann, give them a hug and tell them we still remember them and that we still love them. My brother your shift is over now, go rest in peace and now we will honor you all by being the best that we can be, and by keeping the torch brightly burning.

3425......Every now and then, we as dispatchers have the opportunity to dispatch a trooper who loves his work, never complains and always has a kind word. They know when you are busy and they leave you alone. They know when you are upset and they try to help by just picking up the phone and saying, "Hey, I'm here if you need me". I had the pleasure of being your dispatcher during your time in the "Mighty Third" and I will never forget it. When you were given the car number "3425", you had some pretty big shoes to fill and you filled them causing them to overflow. You exceeded our expectations by far and the 3rd District Radio Room will NEVER forget you.
Rest In Peace brother, I will see you on the other side.
