I salute Deputy Sheriff Jerry Ortiz for his service as well as his sacrifice. It is my prayer that his family, friends and co-workers find some sense of peace during this difficult time.

i am deeply saddened when i read what had happened to this officer...i lost a dear friend who was a sheriffs deputy here in northern michigan...my heart goes out to your family and 2 children...the sad part is that jerry was doing what he could to make this world a better place...i just turned 34 and i realize how lucky i am to live in a safe town...god bless and please know that your husband is watching over you and your 2 children...may jerry rest in peace...dana
