Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrolman David E. Barnett

David and I were good friends and he was the best. I miss his sense of humor and his laugh. I think of him often and wish so much that he was still here. I had one of the metal valor bracelets and wore it for several years. I lost it in the ocean late one night and it was like losing him over again. I miss him so much and I'm glad to have found this memorial page.

I used to run into Dave and other Little Rock Policeman during my coffee break at the waffle house. At the time I was a uniformed Customs Inspector. All the Little Rock PD I met were good men and Dave, besides being a good guy, was proud to be a member of the force. I was sadden when he was killed. He will be forever remembered by those of us who knew him.

David was a friend. I miss him and think of him often. Those of you who did not have the pleasure of knowing David missed a lot. He was a short guy and tried for years to become a police officer. Finally, they accepted him. It was his dream. He loved to ride his Harley and had just left his favorite Hog hang out when he was murdered. He was in Waffle House that morning to have a cup of coffee and was trying to help the people in the restaurant stay alive. He was off duty but as most know when you are a police officer you are never off duty. God bless you David and may you rest in peace. We love and miss you and you will NEVER be forgotten.
