Our lives have been touched by Pete's gentle nature and sense of humor. As a step-brother, he will be always be remembered. As we witnessed the outpouring of support at the loss of Pete, one can only see a tip of the greatness that Pete accomplished in his short life here on earth.

We leave this message....
If we could have a lifetime wish
A dream that would come true,
We'd pray to God with all our hearts
For yesterday and You.
A thousand words can't bring you back
We know because we've tried...
Neither will a thousand tears
We know because we've cried...
You left behind our broken hearts
And happy memories too...
But we never wanted memories
We only wanted You.

God bless...you are deeply missed.

As a past member of the Wadena Police Dept,I had the great honor and privilege to call Pete 'my partner'. Never a shift went by that I didn't learn something from Pete, whether it be about a statute, or about life. I was amazed at how Pete was able to handle a situation with just his gift-of-gab. He could talk the feathers off a duck.

It is certainly a tragedy that someone with a heart as big as Pete's, was taken away from us by his heart. I guess he gave so much of it that there wasn't any left. That was Pete's selfless way.

My prayers goes out to Pete's family, the members of the Wadena Police Dept., and the Wadena Co. Sheriffs' Dept.. Although Pete is gone in person, he remains in spirit in all of us that knew him. Take comfort in that.

And to Pete. Thank you, 'Bone', for taking this kid under your wing, and showing him how to be a cop. 88 has been placed on the back of my badge, over my heart where you will always remain. Go 10-7 now and rest in peace. Your watch is over. You done good.

To Our Law Enforcement Officials:

We would like to extend our deepest thanks and gratitude for attending the funeral service of fellow officer, Peter Jay Resch of Wadena, Minnesota.

We were deeply moved as we watched you march in, by the hundreds, to honor Pete. No words can describe the impact you had on each of us that day, as we realized the magnitude of “standing together”.

We thank you for traveling near and far and rejoice in the tribute made to a man who touched many lives and who will always be in our hearts.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone whose thoughts and prayers are with us during this time of need.

The Bone:

I will miss your smile, your belly laugh, good & bad jokes, sticky up Elvis hair - but most of all just being around you.

Pete left a deep void the day he died - Pete touched many of us in so many positive aspects that words cannot express - he gave selflessly to his occupation and was known for his deep love and admiration of his family.

We were all blessed in having the opportunity to know and love Pete -

"We could've missed the pain, but we'd have to miss the dance".

Peace be with you Pete -
