Reflections for Reserve Sergeant Joseph Pozell
A couple of days ago, I left the same reflection for Officer Pozell that I have left for every officer since I found out my old friend, Asst. Chief of Police Bill Linder of the Wisner, La. Police Dept. was killed in the line of duty. But I think that a reserve officer deserves some special recognition for thier service. They put thier lives on the line every day for little or no pay, simply because they love what they do and sincerely care about thier fellow man. Officer Pozell, I like to believe that God has a special place for you and other reserve officers in Heaven. We all rest easier knowing that you are watching over us. A special thanks to you, and may you rest in peace.

Officer Pozell, I was IN Washington D.c. FOR The Police Officers Memorial to honor thoughs Brave Men and Women in blue. I was walking through George Town Univerisity when I saw The Emergency Sqaud pulling away, At that time I was unaware it was you, who had been carried away.
It wasn't until late in the after noon after watching the new's That it was a Metro Officer who Had been struck. I was in tears and thinking how ironic that I was hear IN D.C. to Honor my fallen Officers when now another officer hangs onto Life. I prayed for you hoping you would pull through.
It wasn't until I returned to Ohio to learn the Lord had taken you home.
I will return next year to give you thanks at the Memorial Wall. Thanks for donating your free time to help others, It takes a Special person to Commit that type of time. God bless, and God bless the family of Officer Pozell.

I would like to thank Officer Pozell for his heart and dedication to the job. This man did for free what many of us have sat around and debated with our own departents about. Officer Pozell dedicated his time and energy into something he just plain enjoyed doing. Serving his community. Officer Pozell should serve as a great role model to us all.
To his family, fellow officers and department go my most heart felt condolences. To Officer Joseph Pozell, god bless you brother. You are an inspiration and role model to us all.

OFFICER POZELL.
myself along with 10 brother and sister officers were in D.C. honoring our fallen officers from 2004. My very good friend Rob from MPDC called me after this incident occurred because he was one of the first or the first responding officers to arrive on the scene for you. I was heartbroken to hear the tragic news and my deepest condolances to your family, friends and co-workers.

I wish to extend my deepest sympathies to the family, coworkers, and friends of Officer Pozell. Many of our brothers and sisters are gone, but none are ever forgotten. May you rest in peace. Then I heaard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? and Who will go for us? And I said "Here I am. Send Me!" ISAIH 6:8

Some friends and I passed by Joe the Thursday evening before he died, commenting that I would hate to have to direct traffic at what is notoriously one of the worst intersections in the metropolitan area. That this man would do what he did, where he did, all on his own time and expense speaks all that needs to be said. Thank you to his family for their sacrifice on our behalf, and a God Bless to a true hero.

As many before me have said, we were in Washington honoring our fallen officers when the news started to spread of this horrible accident. Phoenix had just lost another officer the Monday prior to police week, and to hear that yet another family and another department had to start to plan a memorial, all of our hearts broke. We just got thru this year's police week, and already we are planning to come back next year.
To the family of Officer Pozell, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We now know all too well what you are going thru...you will always have comfort around you.
To the Law enforcement family, ours prayers to you too...this is something that no one should have to go through, especially something as senseless as this. We are thinking of you.
Officer Pozell, you are 10-7, good night sir.
