The masses were placed at attention

Touching words were spoken with such sincere emotion

The bagpipes played and then a hand salute

The 21-gun salute commenced and everybody shook

The flag was folded and presented

As tears fell and prayers were said

Taps was played and the honor guard stepped away

The solemn voice of the Sheriff sounded off

Richland 824, 10-42!

Keith, we know where you're at, we know who's standing beside you, we love you and we'll miss you buddy. Yesterday was not goodbye...it was until we see each other again.

To Deputy Cannon's family. On April 23, 2005 I was involved in an incident that took my bestfriend from me, Ofc. Larry Lasater. Over the last couple of weeks I have been able to slowly begin to heal from this tragedy in my life and can only tell you that in time you will start to heal as well. My prayers are with your family.

Byron we met on one of the many occasions you worked at First Citizens Bank. I always looked forward to the days you were on the schedule. I didn't know you for long but you were such a nice person to be around. You will be missed by many. You are in a good place I'm sure of, and my condolences go out to your family and your co-workers as well. Even from Germany I am shedding a tear for a good man/cop. We will meet again one day. Peace Byron.

Upon the markers of their graves
Our heroes etched in names we save
For all the life they gave with pride
To keep the peace within life's stride

To honor serve and do their best
To keep us safe through any quest
They gave up what was theirs to share
Their spirits shall be always near

No fear within the hearts and minds
To keep us safe within our times
The glory that is ours to see
Those special hearts of bravery

They have walked where no man dare
Their lives in danger with no care
For they have given all they could
For their courage we have stood

In awe of every one who gave
His life for others who they saved
So we will know their contribution
Their firm resolve and resolution

For those they left with hearts so broken
In every whispered word that's spoken
We bow our heads in confirmation
In every word life's revelation

Those who stand within their shoes
Will follow courage as they choose
And give to all the best they had
They carry on with spirits glad

We will know that they walked through
With colors bright and hearts so true
No Island stands alone they say
For heroes they are born this way

Protecting those with loyalty
A glimpse of so much royalty
Within the years of courage bound
These officers have earned their crown

Upon the earth we shall remember
The special goals and all their thunder
That proves a hero came our way
Who left their hearts on earth to stay.

I was working the day of Keiths return home. I have never seen our agency with such silence and loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who are close friends of his.

Keith,
I know you are doing well in the arms of God and watching all of us day in and out. I just want to say that you will be missed more than imagined. I will always remember when you stepped up to the plate to help me through my crisis and only hope I can do the same. "Moving" day will never be looked at the same. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and we will make sure they are watched after. We will also continue the job you started with such great ambition, desire and passion.

Rest in Peace my brother.
