Reflections for Police Officer Tommy Edward Scott
Tommy, when I met you, I was transfering down to the Port Police and you had just finished you training. It doesn't seem like that long ago. You were loved by many and will be missed by all. Rest easy brother.

The Eskimos have over 100 words for snow, the Egyptians have over 500 words for sand and they say a picture paints a 1000 words. We have lost another Brother, and there are no words for that. Brother, your shift is over and now you can rest. We will take it from here. My prayers to your family, until we meet... Rest in Peace.

I never met you, but I looked at this site last night, and I realized that officers die everyday. I had never really thought about it. I come to check it today, and I find another name. Thank you for showing me something new in life, and my prayers are with you and your family. You have served your time in hell, now go be with god in heaven. God bless!

This is unfortunately another disgusting example of the utter disregard for human life that is too often displayed by criminals against police officers. Officer Scott, may you rest in peace knowing that you have served your community well, and that we will continue to watch over your friends and loved ones. God bless you sir!

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.
Tonight, April 30, 2005 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Police Officer Tommy Edward Scott who died in the line of duty just yesterday.
When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.
Officer Scott’s sacrifice will never be forgotten.

I wish to express our deepest sympathy to the Scott Family and the officers and staff of the Los Angeles World Airport Police Department over the tragic loss of Police Officer Tommy Scott. Once again a coward has taken the life of another brother officer from the thin blue line. May God bless the Scott Family and the officers and staff of the Los Angeles World Airport Police during this very sad time. May our brother Tommy rest in peace. Tommy will now patrol the streets of Heaven with St. Michael and his angels. Never forget the fallen hero!

Officer Scott, you may not remember, but you drove past me with a wave and a smile just minutes prior to making your traffic stop. I will NEVER forget that simple moment and the tragic horror that followed shortly after that. You have already taught me to never take anything for granted. I later found out through your co-workers that the smile and wave was very typical of your behavior. THANK YOU for all you have done for the airport and this city. YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!

As a Southern California citizen who uses the airport on a regular basis to send my kids to visit their father, I am deeply saddened at the loss of Officer Scott. I can't describe the comfort found in knowing that Officer Scott, and others like him, are there to keep us safe from bad. May his family, friends, and co-workers know peace and comfort in these difficult times.

Once again we see a waste of a good life. Law Enforcement in Southern California keeps getting worse everyday when another fellow officer dies in the line of duty. It hurts me so much to hear that another Police Officer from a smaller agency died. We now see agencies in the LA area that never lost an officer are starting to loose good Police Officers. I think that it is time that we all as a society take a huge step back and think that if this dirt-bag could kill one of LA's finest, what would they do to a regular member of John Q. Public? We are the thin blue line between what is right and what is wrong. Officer Scott, you represent what is good and what is possible in today's society. To say that you died a hero in the line of duty just isnt enough! To your friends, family and co-wokers at LAX, you have my deepest respects for your ultimate loss. And once again, it's amazing to me that the suspect lives and your life was taken so easy. Enough is enough! May God bless you and everyone that you affected in your daily life. Rest in Peace!
