Officer Scott may you rest at peace with the Lord and know that your family is safe. I hope that the coward that did this gets his day in court or on the street. What a true waste of space in our criminal justice system this person will now take up.

On behalf of your brothers and sister north of the U.S. I offer my heartfelt sympathies to the family of Officer Scott. Know that he died a hero. Know that he died doing the job that he loved to do. To the officers of the LAWAPD carry on in the true professioalism that this honorable profession deserves. You will all be role models in this time of crisis.

Upon the markers of their graves
Our heroes etched in names we save
For all the life they gave with pride
To keep the peace within life's stride
To honor serve and do their best
To keep us safe through any quest
They gave up what was theirs to share
Their spirits shall be always near
No fear within the hearts and minds
To keep us safe within our times
The glory that is ours to see
Those special hearts of bravery
They have walked where no man dare
Their lives in danger with no care
For they have given all they could
For their courage we have stood
In awe of every one who gave
His life for others who they saved
So we will know their contribution
Their firm resolve and resolution
For those they left with hearts so broken
In every whispered word that's spoken
We bow our heads in confirmation
In every word life's revelation
Those who stand within their shoes
Will follow courage as they choose
And give to all the best they had
They carry on with spirits glad
We will know that they walked through
With colors bright and hearts so true
No Island stands alone they say
For heroes they are born this way
Protecting those with loyalty
A glimpse of so much royalty
Within the years of courage bound
These officers have earned their crown
Upon the earth we shall remember
The special goals and all their thunder
That proves a hero came our way
Who left their hearts on earth to stay.

This is horrible! I come to this website every day and I hate seeing another name added to officers killed in the line of duty. I never had the chance to meet you, but I wanted to pay my respects and say thank you for making the community a better place. You will be met by many other heroes in heaven. You sound like you were a tough and brave man as a police officer. Continue your watch in heaven and let all the other officers continue the job down here. I hope that jerk gets what he deserves. There is no reason for things like this to happen. I guess some people just don't have their stuff together. I'm sure your fellow officers will make sure he gets what he deserves, but nothing can replace you. I will be thinking of your family and loved ones as they will be going through a difficult time.

Ofc. Tommy Scott,
Thank you for the times we shared in the academy. You were always squared away and you had a knack for getting everyone else squared away. Although our time was short there, it now seems like a lifetime to me. And though we did not work at the same department, my heart is heavy my brother. Your watch is over now, you can rest in peace.

I never dreamed it would be me
My name for all eternity
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face
“In the line of duty” I hear them say
My family now the price will pay
My folded flag stained with their tears
We only had those few short years
The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind
And pray they keep this thought in mind
I never dreamed it would be me
And with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear God, let my name be the last
I love you brother, rest well in peace.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and fellow officers of Officer Scott.
While no one who wears a badge wants to be put into such a situation, he put himself into the line of fire to protect those whom he might not have even known despite the danger. While I did not have the privilege to have known him personally, I am certain that he has found a place in heaven.
Rest in peace my friend; those of us who remain will cover your post on the thin blue line.
