Reflections for Police Officer Tommy Edward Scott
Officer Tommy Scott will be painfully missed. He will be mourned and forever cheerished not only by all his brothers and sisters in blue, but by every person he came into contact with. His goodness, his kindness, his gentleness, his desire for perfection, his quest for knowledge, his genorosity and his true compassion left impressions on all of us. I remember hearing a call come out for a possible explosion at the International Terminal. It was Officer Tommy Scott putting out the call, setting up the comand post, getting help for the injured, requesting addition units and setting up perimeters, it was done effortlessly, almost in one breath. As I flew to get to the scene, I just thought, Thank God he was primary, I knew everything would be done right. Officer Tommy Scott not only take a call no matter the time, date or situation, he would buy it......happily. Then he would proceed to go above and beyond with true heartfelt sincerity, with a smile and a word of positivity. I remember when he first got off of probation, we laughed together as a Sergeant advised him that we were given brakes, if he didn't know, and was ordered to take a code 15. I have never met a person like him before, and doubt I will ever meet one again anytime soon. As I look around at all the pain and sorrow in the faces of my fellow officers....as I hold this emptiness in my own heart, I realize that we were truely in the presence of an angel. If I could become just a fraction of the person he was as an officer, a friend, a co-worker, and a son.......I feel I truely would have accomplished something. He is forever in my heart as I know he is in everyone elses. May his smile always shine, we love you Tommy. For his family...you are beautiful and dear, we hold you in our hearts and prayers. I thank you for the speech you gave at the funeral. It inspired US, it strenghed US, as you stood so strong and true. God Bless and keep you. You have our love always.

Tommy was assigned to Watch 2. My Watch. Our Rollcall was at 0630. When Tommy entered rollcall he woke everyone up with his greeting, "Morning All!!" He was loud, proud and ready to roll. His big "Kool Aid" smile brightened my day on many occasions. What a wonderful, professional, caring human being. Tommy was a "Cop's cop. I keep his picture on my office wall to remind me of all the positive things in life and to borrow that smile on the days when I lose mine. I miss you Tommy, you will always be my "2L205". Watch over us my friend and be the angel on our shoulders. May God Bless your spirit and ease the pain in the hearts of your family and friends. I will see you on the other side.

Thank you for your smile and kind words. Your friendliness in a sometimes hostile environment was so appreciated. I thank you for doing your job and in doing so it allowed me to do my job feeling protected and safe something that I just took for granted. I feel blessed to have been able to work in the same department.

Airport Police Officer Tommy Scott is remembered as an "Outstanding Public Servant" and most importantly, an "Incredible Human Being." Officer
Scott brought Professionalism, Honor, and Commitment to the profession he loved so dearly.
I will always remember Scott's constant manner of respect for self and for others. Officer Scott touched many with his tremendous smile and welcoming demeanor. Through his service, Scott set an example that I hope others will follow.
In closing, I find comfort in God's promise through scripture, "That whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have have EVERLASTING LIFE."

I remember Tommy as a very motivated young officer; he carried himself as a seasoned veteran. He really cared about his profession and his department. Tommy was a team player, he was eager to learn, to do his job and to help others. Because of his positive image and diplomacy he was often called upon to preform special task; his infectous smile and well groomed demeanor was obvious to everyone.
To Tommy's family, you are in my prayers. There will always be an ache in your hearts, because physically you will miss Tommy's presence, but God and time will ease your pain.
Thank you all that took the time to offer your condolences to the LAWA family. It means so much and we are strengthened by your words from all over the country. We in law enforcement always stop to reflect and have a moment of silence when we hear of an officer slain in the line of duty, but when it's one of your own...well that's another story.
God bless each of you, be safe.

Rarely in our lives are so many people touched by a single person.
When you joined Airport Police, you mesmerized us with your smile. Your jovial disposition was contagious to those who witnessed it. Your gentle being carried in it a wonderful spirit of happiness, tenacity, temperance, and humility. NOW I KNOW...that you weren't "just special" you were an ANGEL when you arrived. You were here on assignment for four years, and when your mission was completed, God called you home. We weren't ready for you to go, but God needs you in heaven, and we need you to watch over us as well. It's a job he knew that only YOU could do. We love you Tommy, and you will be forever in our hearts.
To the Scott family: Thank you so very much for sharing your special Angel with us. He touched so many lives long before that fateful day. You are in my heart and my prayers. Just remember, God is with you and Tommy is too because he's an Angel, and he always was.

Long after we're gone there is no more wondering, only sadness. A true sadness that is deeply felt by us all. What a special person you were to many people. We will all miss you. In our daily lives let us remember: There is a dream for you to follow, a goal for you to set, a plan for you to make, a project for you to begin, an idea for you to act on, a possibility for you to explore, an opportunity for you to grab, and a choice for you to make (Abdul Baha). God Bless your family.

Tommy, you are one of the most dedicated and loyal people that I have ever known. You were always there when I needed you. I will never forget your voice, "Sarge, whatever you need me to do", "No problem sarge", "Is that it?"
" I'll take care of it". "Anything else?"
We would somehow often talk for hours. You were ALWAYS pleasant and reliable. You were by far one of the best Field Training Officers that this department has ever seen and I only hope others aspire to follow in your steps.
I will miss you now, but we shall meet again.
